801 Slip-on / exhaust list

I don’t know about the peak horse power, but with K&N-filter, slipon and FuelX Pro+ my bike runs very smoothly, also on low revs which wasn’t the case before I installed the FuelX. Since it runs much smoother on low & mid revs there should absolutely be some power gain there.

Regarding peak power over 8k rpm and my short exhaust: I have no idea if there’s a difference compared to the original muffler. I would have loved to see bench results. I have a db-killer in the midpipe but took out the db-killer in the endcan.
Ok awesome, thanks for the info. Mines now just a straight through pipe . I guess if we’re talking minimal loses it’s not a big deal for me, though I do like the idea of the fuel x pro - not the lite. I haven’t had any issues with stalling yet.

Whats a KTM power plate? A guess would be the lid to the air filter but with slits?

Is there a noticeable difference using the K&N-filter? To the best of my knowledge, less resistance means more airflow which in turn means less filtration, which is of course the trade off.
Yep correct, it’s an upgrade to the filter lid. I’m not worried about filtration/dust where I live, though you can get a power plate lid that’s more directed to the 790 adventure, with double filtration. Honestly I was addicted to the intake noise to the stage 2 induction system on my last bike so keen to get both lid and filter with fuel x pro with the exhaust for a listen!

I'm quite nervous of water getting into the air filter if the bike is out in the rain if theres slits on top of it. If youve used such an air lid, have you had any trouble whatsoever?
I had a similar set up on my 401 - air filter and air filter cover where both free flow K&N. I didn’t ever have any issues, can’t say it was left in the rain much though? The difference in performance was better, but minimal - the sound however was intoxicating

I have a Coober ECU, did you have a fuelx or something similar? Just curious if that would make a difference.

I did have a fuel x pro in the 401. I was planning on doing the same with the 801, especially with the free flowing exhaust and possible air filter upgrades. How do you rate the Coober?

Expensive? I dont have any experience with the fuelx and the reason I went with Coober was because it was neigh impossible to get the fuelx and if Id like a decat somewhere down the road I can with the coober.

Its easier to ride in traffic and slow speeds with less choppiness and perhaps a bit more omph down low but its not night and day difference. I wanted a fuelx/coober because I commute to work in a lot of traffic and the choppiness and me having to constantly slip the clutch at low speeds drove me insane.

...and of course some soundclips... ;)

Still prefer the look of the stock one and the Remus, but going without db-killer seems like a big plus point;)

what is your opinion on the sound? how is while driving compared to the others? more pops and bangs?

Same here; the stock brushed stainless steel Svartpilen muffler is still my favorite; to me it's part of the 801 design; and with the shortened db-killer it's absolutely perfect to me; it's not too loud.
Nevertheless I was curious and wanted to give these parts a try; but I did no testride with them.
The small mufflers without db-killer are definitely too loud (at least here in Germany to ride through towns); the big muffler was definitely better and with an added short db-killer it could be absolutely OK.

Nice!
Did you have a favourite? Was there a little difference in sound? The longer pipe more bass maybe?

From the fittment the 800NK is the best; the angle a lenght of the pipe fit's quite nicely; but the muffler is too small/short and too loud.
The big muffler is less loud and the sound is indeed deeper / more bass; and with an added db-killer it should work fine.

I think the Akrapovic interests me most. Similar look to stock, with presumably better sound.

Don't expect too much from the Akrapovic; most people were quite disappointed of the sound; because of the Euro 5+ regulations most street legal exhaust are nearly identical.
But it's possible to remove the db-killer; it's just spot-welded underneath the cap; and without or with a shortened db-killer the sound seems to be nice.

I am very interested in the Arrow knock off myself.
I must say though @Tom the colours you’ve chosen there are near on perfect in the photos. They all really suit the bike. I’m a big fan - my opinion is subjective though 🙂
