I generally commute with a backpack but on those hot days that require a mesh jacket a backpack is just the worst. I'll have to pick up one of these mounts.
Okay, so for those who might be interested...
I picked up the Oxford Nomad Accessory Harness today. Its pretty cheap and it fits the 801 rear seat perfectly.
It allows you to strap extra luggage to the tail easily. You can use it with the Nomad range of accessory bags or Kriega or whatever you have.
Just to the underside of the seat. It works really well. I've ridden a few times with a really full Kriega bag and it doesn't move at all.It fits indeed very good!
How is it attached; also to the frame or just to the seat?
Yeah, I was surprised it held up, it became quite top heavy. So you finally ended up with 90-100 liters on top of the pillion? That's quite a lot; never thought it could work.
As I found out, on my recent trip, panniers will only work if you can make a bracket to lift them away from the exhaust. I may try and make something on the lines of Tom’s left side pannier bracketBy using Tom strap method, I managed to have Kriega US70 and a backpack on top it during my Scotland trip, it worked quite well. Encountered no problem on twisty roads or highways. Just make sure all strap are tighten up, or it might lean one side more favourably.
But for next camping trip, I would love to have panniers side bags that's are attached to the bike and more easy accessible. With this Kriega US70 system, I'm always dead last to pack up and once everything is strapped down, can't easily get access to the contents of the bags.

I was juggling with the idea of taking the side bags meant for Norden 901 and let a shop fabricate the side carrier, won't be cheap. As I found out, on my recent trip, panniers will only work if you can make a bracket to lift them away from the exhaust. That's my idea as well, less faff.I’ll also add that switching to a one bag solution (roll top duffle bag) was so much quicker to install, remove and take with you when off the bike. My mistake was filling it with too much unnecessary stuff.
