Rear Bag and Side Bag simultaneously

Yes, they can be mounted simultaneously.

From the fitting instruction:

But the Husqvarna rearbag is (imho) completely nonsense; 5 liter capacity is very small; and the additional brackets to strap it to the bike makes no sense.

Alternatively I can highly recommend the Kriega US-series; it's not cheap, but the quality is outstanding; and the look is decent and also fits the 801 (again imho).
I have the US10, US20 and also the US30 (10, 20 and 30 liter capacity); a US5 with 5 liter capacity is also available.
For traveling I can combine them; if needed; and they are strapped to the bike without any additional brackets.

You should mount one or the other.

The Husqvarna side bag is 5l also....

Hoe did you mount those under the pillion seat? What are they attached to?

The front-straps are attached to the frame, the rear-straps are connected with each other under the pillion seat.

I second Kriega. I have three backpacks and the quality is second to none. I have had one of the backpacks for 10+ years and it still holds up.

For some "heavier" luggage I also have some loops that can be mounted to the attachment points underneath of the rearframe (the same attachement points that are also used to assemble the Husqvarna-bag brackets), but for some standard use the straps underneath the pillion seat are absolutely fine.

I got the rear Husqvarna bag...it is not big but I got in it my rain equipment... Trouser jacket shoes and hands cover... Plus space for a repair tire kit..basically what I need. It's always mounted..and I like it. Obviously is not a big bag but for my purpose it works perfectly.

Where did you get those straps?

Is it the same size of hole/bolts as the ones under the frame above the tire, sort of plug and play?

Today I tried adding attachment loops to the underside of the tail section… it kind of worked but looked a bit ugly. Because the attachment points are so close together I had to criss cross the kriega straps to get a secure hold on the us20 bag. I’m going to try a different setup using the Oxford Nomad system. Or a hybrid using that + Kriega.

BTW, I know I could mount the bag lengthways but that would eat into seating space and also I’m wearing a backpack, so would be uncomfortable. Oxford Nomad make a MOLLE harness that could attach to the 801 rear seat and provided attachment points for the Kriega dtraps.

Here again the pic how I finally attached the straps to the frame.
I did it with some simple custom made straps (grey) and Kriega straps (black), but it also works if you only use Kriega straps.

Tom, where did you attach the black straps, to the grey ones that are attached to the subframe?

I don't have a better pic, but if you'll remove the pillion seat, you'll find underneath on each side of the subframe an opening where the straps can be attached.

I attached the straps just like your picture but I did not attach the black straps that hold the strap furthest to the back. That is quite clever to make sure it does not move. Was just curios where you attached the black straps.

Okay, so for those who might be interested...
I picked up the Oxford Nomad Accessory Harness today. Its pretty cheap and it fits the 801 rear seat perfectly.
It allows you to strap extra luggage to the tail easily. You can use it with the Nomad range of accessory bags or Kriega or whatever you have.

See pics with the US20 Kriega bag for reference. I mounted the Kriega bag lengthways and widthways, and both are possible.
