801 Slip-on / exhaust list

The stock exhaust with the completely removed db-killer was quite "reverberating"; especially at higher rpms; with the short custom made db-killer it's less loud and more raspy; it's perfect to me; I would guess it'll be quite similar with the Remus.

Or cut it chunk by chunk until you find the sweet spot ! The shorter the louder....
Fine tuning to be found here !

Looking at getting an affordable Slip on for my incoming Svartpilen 801, anyone got any feedback on the IXil Race Extreme , especially the sound over stock ?

AFAIK, it's the most notorious upgrade from all of the available slip-ons. Just keep in mind it's the cheapest because it's not homologated, which could be an issue (or not 😜) depending on where you live.

If you wanna keep it on the homologated side, your best option would be the Leo Vince. If you don't mind it, the IXIL will make you roar.

There's a lot of cheap duke 790 ones on Aliexpress you could try without too much risk.|
Mine was a cheaper exhaust (Black Widow) but they are UK made and sound pretty good.

Yep, agreed on the Black Widow, really popular on MT07's we see at our dealership ! Is that your bike on youtube ?

But honestly you aren't really going to affect the sound that much without deleting the giant resonator box in the mid pipe.

Hi, I opted for the LV-14 TITANIUM and I'm quite happy with it. The sound isn't too loud, but it's definitely a bit more robust than the original. I also like the look of it.
Do you have a sound clip of this slip on with the bike? I'm really tempted to buy the black version as it's below €500,- here in NL and the lines are very nice. Also, there is a small piece of me that appreciates the heritage with the LeoVince for Nuda.

Also, @loki_ have you checked if it's easy to remove the spot weld from the DB killer for the homologated version?

From what I've read, the unmodified 801-Remus seems to be slightly louder than the stock exhaust; the unmodified 801-Akrapovic seems to be nearly identical with the stock exhaust. But both, the Remus and the Akrapovic can be more easy modified than the stock exhaust.
Finally, if you want the exhaust completely road legal (EUR 5+, listed to fit the 801 and not modified), don't expect too much.
Hi @Tom , I've read this entire thread and, like you, I also like the Remus exhaust. Of the 2 Remus exhausts you tried (890 vs 801 versions), which would you go with? And of all the exhaust talked about here, which did you decide to use most on your 801?

Hi Imandelin,
I've not tested the long 801 Remus. I do like the quite special design of the hydromformed NXT-Remus, but the 801 version is too long for my liking. The Duke 890 version is shorter; and fits the 801 in my opinion very nicely.
The stock brushed stainless steel Svartpilen exhaust ist still my favorite; to me it's part of the design of the bike; and with the tweaked baffle/db-killer it's a bit louder and a bit raspier, but not too much; it's perfect to me.

@Tom thanks for the reply. I agree with you about the Duke 890 Remus version, I love that its shorter. I saw that on your install of it, you had removed the rear foot pegs. Was that because the exhaust would not fit with them still in place? I ask because I want to keep the rear footpegs on the bike, and I'm looking at getting the shorter Duke 890 Remus. BTW, what is your choice for piggyback units? I'm considering the Coober LM device, but still learning about it all. Thanks!

I've removed the rear pegs not because of the exhaust, but as I don't ride the 801 with a pillion and of course as it looks much "cleaner".
I've not tested it, but from what I've read, about all exhausts also fit with the rear pegs in place.
As I don't use the bike for commuting through town but mainly for fun-day-trips and rarely ride at low revs, I see no need to add a piggyback, but If I would, my first choice would probably be the Coober.
