I would strongly suggest Dunlop Mutants. I had them on a 1300GS and they lasted 10,000km and they’re still in there…maaaaybe another 500-1000km but I dunno.

I had the Road 6 on the 401 and they too are a good tire but there’s just something about the Mutants I like.

I’m in need for a new set on the 1300GS, and I was thinking the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR, instead of the Mutants but I can’t pull the trigger cause I can’t decide if I wanna try the STR or just stick with another set of Mutants.

I'm also considering the Dunlop Mutant as my next set of tires; I do also like the look of them; imho they will fit the SP very nicely.

Agree. I read a lot of reviews before deciding on the Road 6. Some reviews mentioned some tires weren’t straight, I don’t remember if that was the mutants. Found only positive comments about the Road 6.

Well, imo, people say mutants make noise on the turns (this is very nit-picky…imo not annoying at all). I would say that going in a straight line the mutants are silent (I have an shoei RF-1400) and I could always hear the slightest of a hum from Road 6’s on a 401. Not trying to discourage you, but I just liked the Mutants more. Both are great in the rain, Mutants actually may have a slight adv over the Road 6. Also, I feel the Mutants handled the fire roads and tower service roads far better than a road 6 ever could. One particular road on my trip through the center of Newfoundland was more of an ATV/snowmobile trail than a service road lol, Mutants did very well.

Haha, I guess that’s final :). I’m sure you’ll be happy with them. Maybe try the Mutants next for a good comparison.
Kinda expensive to swap the front tire if not needed. I hope I’ll be happy with the road 6. I’ve had Road Sports on previous bikes (20-10 years ago) and they were great. I only ride good tarmac, the roads here in Sweden are excellent, especially compared to the US and most of Central Europe.

Tiny details; some very small still "E-marked" side-reflectors; made from some 100mm reflectors...

Anybody swapped out the standard horn? I bought a Hella horn from Amazon but it’s worse than the original 🙄

Zero rust except for the disc brakes getting a little cranky. Everything on the bike except for the brake discs seem to be zinked or coated.

Zero rust, some water marks on the matt plastic parts. Chain guard and side panels, ( these may become gloss soon ) Some of the gloss black parts are showing micro scratches ( I plan to address this)

It's not ageing, it's maturing! ;)
No rust or anything to mention; but the bike is always kept in the garage.
