If you check my YouTube video it might save you some time. Installation should be pretty much the same except that the Coober has 3 connectors.

Managed to fit the Coober this afternoon. Very straightforward, getting the wiring nice and neat took the longest time. Fitted it all to try first then played about making it look good. The ECU unit itself fits on top of the airbox lid on some double sided Velcro tape. I removed the sticker with the fuse box info on and put onto the ECU. Think it looks quite tidy. Now the good bit, zero problems on start up, think the Rickover is slightly higher. The hesitation and hunting at low revs has disappeared and it’s much smoother now. I only managed a very brief run but first impressions are excellent.

Sounds like the same results as with the FuelX. I didn’t have problems with jerkiness before installing it but low revs are a lot smoother now. I can ride at lower speeds in higher gears.

When I looked yonsson, the Fuel X was unavailable. The bike wasn´t jerky just didn´t like a very low revs in first second gears. I know it´s all Euro 5+ related but I like things to as near perfect as possible. There is also what feels like a little too much free play in the throttle cable but as it´s flyby wire I can´t adjust this to my liking which is zero free play.
The thing I didn´t like about the FuelX was the bar mounted remote but I like your solution, hadn´t thought about doing that.
´Edit´ also added a K&N air filter while I was at it.

The throttle play has to be a setup thing, I don’t have that at all. The FuelX is probably still not available for the 801, I bought the 790 version. They don’t specify that the remote is removable on the website, I got that info directly from their support.

The good thing about the Coober is that it should be decay safe. I don’t k ow if the FuelX is.

I had Fuel X on a 401 Svartpilen. I thought it made a small difference to low speed smoothness but not sure if it's worth the money. What are you thoughts on the 790/801 version? Is it worth the outlay? Thanks

PS. FWIW... Most useful bang for buck on the 401 was the DNA filter... produces a really nice intake noise.

It was worth it for me since I had the bike die on me a few times. It was also a little hard to ride the bike in 30km/h in the second gear. I have no issues like that anymore. The bike feels better but it’s not a night and day difference. I can’t say if it has more power now than before. I wouldn’t call it a must have upgrade.

I had the FuelX lite on my 401 and I share your thoughts about it. The results were positive but the reviews I’ve read have been very exaggerated talking about how it will make it feel like a new bike.

Managed a longer ride today with the Coober installed. The bike is definitely a little smoother. You can now drop down to around 20kph in second and third gears around very tight hairpin bends and the bike just pulls away without any fuss. It’s not a vast improvement over stock but it’s better in my opinion.
Did around 300km today and I might have to have a look at the Ergo seat option to aid my comfort.
Had a ride around Alto Velefique ( circa 1800m ) in Andalusia, superb road.

Amazing roads in your part of the world. I'm planning to take my 801 to Northern Spain next month, can't wait to ride through
Very lucky to have amazing, well surfaced, virtually traffic free roads right from the door. It’s why I bought it to be fair 😉
July and August can be rather toasty.

It’s plastic spray paint. Very easy to remove.
do you think it can use also for the plastic windscreen? in mt old 401 i wrap it because I dont like the fumé version, i tried on the windscreen of the 801.. the matte black color I used is very nice but I can't say the same about the work I did, there are some wrinkles in the corners

Yes, try it. Put on 4-5 layers and spray indoors or the wind will mess it up.

Nice job i tried the same the matte black color I used is very nice but I can't say the same about the work I did, there are some wrinkles in the corners, I'm thinking of remouving it and use some spry wrap

I used the "older" 3M 1380 wrap, that is very flexible; with some patience and some heat from a heatgun it worked fine even at the indentations.
The “new” 3M 2080 is supposed to be even more flexible; it should work even better.
