801 owners club

What is the story with OEM spares guys?

Exhaust bracket not in stock etc etc
With Bajaj Auto acquire KTM, production have slowed down/ceased until the merger is done. I still have to wait for my heated grips and cruise control until November, if I'm lucky. My dealer said everything should be normal next year.

Some dealers still have some of these parts in stock; last week I got the heated grips; and the dealer still had some more sets in stock.

Wish I could get my heating grips as well (first date for deliver was 8th August and now middle of October) not sure my viking hands can handle the winter without them ;)

Apart from that ☝️ anatomical anomaly 🤣, try rotating the blinker unit. There is a hex underneath the uni. If you loosen it, you can rotate the unit and so you can put the blinker where they feel more comfortable. I did this right away while adjusting the angle of the levers and handlebar and I have no issues at all with the location of the blinkers.
I haven't found this, only a cover on top of god knows what, but I don't wanna pry it open if it's not necessary. Would you mind sharing pictures so I can know better what I'm looking for?

These are pictures of the left unit. I've marked the only bolt you need to loose with a blue circle. You don't need to remove the bolt, just loose it a bit, adjust the angle of the unit and tighten again. The bold is quite deep in the unit, and the clutch lever is a bit annoying. So depending on the allen key you have, you might have to loosen and turn the clutchlever a bit to get good access. Just mark the orginal position, so you have reference. Good luck! (y)

Whats the average cost of your services folks?

Trying to do a forensic budget with my car (GR Yaris) for consumption purposes.

Out of curiosity I testfitted a BMW nineT flyscreen (it's made from aluminum); it would need some custom made brackets to fit the 801...

Is a little bit the shape of the Kiska design Vitpilen bike

Exactly my thoughts; with a relocated dash, it might fit the Vitpilen quite nicely...
At the BMW the angle of the flyscreen is not as flat as the Kiska-flyscreen, but it could be adjusted with some custom made brackets.
With a Vitpilen I would give it a try.

A little experiment today. Tried some 3M vinyl carbon wrap. I ordered high gloss but sadly it’s not that glossy. First photo is OEM, the others my first attempt at wrapping.
I thought the gloss wrap would match the carbon on my Akra, wrong. Maybe I’ll try a different vinyl, or perhaps just order carbon parts. I know there is a crease in the third photo . What’s your opinion guys?

Kind words @Tom, I´m still not sure. Have been looking at full carbon options. At least it´s easy to remove. The small parts were difficult too hold and stretch the vinyl, hence not a perfect job on my part. Was interesting tho.
