Vit701 Gearing Change

Agreed as I’ll use 5th for top gear at a constant, legal highway speed. But when I’m accelerating to 100+ I definitely find employment of 6th.
still waiting to hit the track though where reaching top speed will be quickly followed with brakes...

Odds are you’ll end up slower at the next corner because you can’t pull too speed in sixth and acceleration in all lower gears is slower.

Serious, stop thinking and buy a few sprockets. Each track is different, you’ll pull a higher top speed on a downhill long straight than on a shorter fun Mickey Mouse track.

All I know is on 15-42 you can easily reach 120mph-ish

Okay, that answers my previous question. Good to know! Thanks!

Sorry for the dumb question but where do the serial numbers being posted valid for? I'm wanting to pickup a 15t front sprocket.

Its quieter.
I found the KTM silent to perform a bit better than JT silent (at least as far as visible wear goes).

Should be this one

KTM is made in Germany
JT is made in China

Alternatively:
AFAM 73303-15
Esjot 50-32051-15
Supersprox cst-1902-15-1 (not silent)
Superlite 73303R-15
Ognibene 7118R15

No issues either, its only preference; like with oil.

The JT packaging Ive had in the hand states:
..."Chromoly steel front sprockets are designed, developed and tested in the UK. Produced to exact specifications in China for JT Sprockets Europe-USA to meet or exceed all of today's OEM quality standards."

Some other manufacturers claim tighter tolerances or optimized tooth design.

A difference in color / design / wear patterns is visible, whether one is better or worse...

Ah, nothing is sacred anymore.

Anyway, I don’t think China has a problem with tolerances, considering they can make microchips, the fastest quantum computers and rockets to the moon. 🙃

Has anybody gone further than 15-42? I’m considering getting a new chain and going up a few more teeth.
