Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

By the way... I didn't want to... but I'm thinking I'm falling in love with this bike...damn it...

Even with that camouflage Husqy pattern you can see very good and stylish details. Love the proportions even I like to be more "on Top" of the bike.
It would be a nice touch if the piece surrounding the tank foam patch were coloured, similar as the piece separating the tank and the seat on the 701 Pilens.

There’s not much I would change if I was responsible for the design. I think it looks awesome.

1: Spoked wheels.
2: Smaller side panels (easy to replace).
3: Eliminate the rear light and have integrated turn signal/brakelights.

181kg according to the Swiss registration. It’s also registered at 105hp, which might mean it’s 105hp for all markets.
191 kg ready to ride according the Swiss homologation paper. Husqvarna claimed 181 kg that seams to be dry weight.

Yes! That's what I saw.
In any case if it's dry weight we should add there the refrigeration and braking fluids, and that apparently would give the new Svartpilen 801 a "not very long" range. 12 l. tank?
My Svart 401 has nearly 10 l. tank and being a small thumper I can make barely 200 km and when I demand performance in a trackday I empty 2 and a half tanks.
I Assume a 800cc 105hp Twin needs more food.
In any case, unexpected weight or unexpected autonomy. Not bad but a little bit out of range about what I was thinking.

Edit: I just saw the calculations about 13,88 l. Maybe to optimistic, but it's true that a 13l. tank should be enough. Nearly 14l. should be ok.

Duke 790 has 14L. It would make sense to use the same gas tank since the main frame is the same.

I really hope that that is a real exhaust design and not like the concept vs reality on the 701s.

Not that my akro isnt pretty...

Wishfull thinking, this is the prototype, not the production bike
If you listen to the video above when they unveiled the prototype, the guy says something like “in the next room there’s the production model which is almost identical except for the stickers”. So I think the exhaust will be very close. It’s the same exhaust as we have seen on the other prototype pictures (except it’s black on the other photos).

If I can make a fair deal with my dealer, I’ll get a short exhaust for it. Probably this one:

when i was looking at buying a 790/890 (before I choosed 701) I reviewd all the dynos and saw repeatedly that with short pipe is loses perfromance pretty bad.

The 890 I almost buyed was black / black and had a slash cut style short pipe and performance packs and it was way worse than a bone stock 790... both new dealer tester bikes.

Maybe can try before you buy 🙈🙈🙈

Then I guess any open slip on should have the same negative effect. Short/long slip on without db-killer shouldn’t make that big of a difference to each other in air flow resistance.

I don’t know if you can trust their dynos, but they report +2hp, +2Nm.
