Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

Curious to see if they do a vitpilen as well and what difference there will be, didn’t seem to be too many on the test mules but all the teasers have been a svart

There are mentions of a Vitpilen 2024 in the lined article above.

Like I guessed, it will have the adjustable suspension, so there’s some of the price difference compared to the Duke 790 price wise. + the tech pack.

Yeah I could see if talking about the Vit and svart, the title threw me off because in my translation it poses the vitpilen in the title as a question if it will be happening or not.

The better suspension is a huge plus, especially if it includes the higher end electronics or track pack.. brakes will be easy to upgrade to 890 spec so really the only downside is the power bump the 890 gives of about 15hp.. not huge but not small either.

I’m pretty sure the tech pack is included since that’s how Husky has done on previous models.

We have seen prototype pics of a Vitpilen so I think it’s coming. If they are smart, they use the Svart to test the market and release the Vit 2025.

True, just doesn’t seem to be a huge difference between the two where it wouldn’t be hard to bring both to market like the 401s. Now that the Vit doesn’t have clip ons it seems the main difference is the tires.

If they hold it back it would be sick if they had a optional fairing like the aero vitpilen… I know, dreams…

Also need them to release it before the Yamaha 900 GP comes to the US, I wouldn’t be able to choose between the two lol.

Yeah, that bike is going to be popular for sure. Too bad it doesn’t come with the full fairing fitted.

Totally agree! I am hoping the reason they don’t bring it to the US is our rediculous lighting rules. Same reason all the US vitpilens have those big dumb turn signals

I think was 181 kg empty.
191 ready to road? Very little added weight imo
The Duke 790 weight is 174kg dry, 188kg wet, 14kg (L) difference. And it has a 14L gas tank.

So 181kg dry vs 191kg wet sounds strange. I have seen several sources saying that Husky says the weight is 181kg. My guess is it has heavier wheels and a few metal parts more than the 790 and that 181 is the dry weight. Wet weight should be approx 181+15= 196ish. Probably even closer to 200kg with the 14.5L whatever gas tank if you also count brake fluid and motor oil.

Edit: I’m overthinking. 191-14= 177kg, which is close to the dry weight of the Duke 790.

Have we seen these wheels before on other Husky/KTM models? I don’t recognize them.

I would say those are the same wheels design on the Vitpilen 2018 / Svart 2019 Dark with little size changes.
  • Vitpilen 701 2018
    • Front 17" with 120/70-17 tyre
    • Rear 17" with 160/60-17 tyre
  • Svartpilen 701 2019 Dark
    • Front 18" with 120/70-18 tyre
    • Rear 17" with 160/60-17 tyre
My guess is they are using the Vitpilen 701 2018 wheels as afaik the new Svart 801 is wearing the Pirelli MT60 RS, front 120/70-17, Rear 180/55-17.
So the front could remain exactly the same and the rear may increase the tyre size, but the profile is lower, so the original 160/60-17 is compatible & legal with the new 180/55-17 without having to change the wheel section.
