Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

I would think if we don’t see something by March then it won’t happen in 2024… KTM doesn’t really do thing logically though, kind of how they won’t make a super bike because it’s too fast for the street and then make the super duke 1390.
 
I now have confirmation from multiple places that it will be a 801 and that it will hit stores around May. Price is expected to be close to the Duke 790. I’ve put my name on the list.
 
My local dealer now says it’s made in Austria, therefore there will be a markup in price compared to the Duke 790. I was dead set on getting until they told me that.

I have never handled a Duke 790 which should be the “cheaper” equivalent to a 801, so I can’t be the judge of the extra worth of it being produced in EU. The quality of the parts should be the same, right?
 
The simple act of removing weight and taking off body panels prompted me to clean out almost all the threads in the bike, it's like the taps they used had a million miles on them and half the tangs were missing. Some bolts felt like they were put on with a jackhammer, others were finger tight. I've got to believe something assembled in the EU would be worlds better quality.

It looks very low in this video. The back is very close to the back tire.

Perhaps. I just noticed it looks lower than the previous spy shots I’ve seen. Might be due to the aspect of the camera, or they might have tried different height settings.
