Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

A 701 in the US cost $11k, I can only imagine what the 901 would cost. Best thing for me about the 401 though is how crazy light you can make it. You can wring its neck to have fun and still not wind up with a go to jail ticket if you get pulled over. If I drive the same way on my MT09 I'm doing triple digits in seconds.

I love my 401 but I borrowed a KTM 890SMT when my bike was in for service and it was pretty damn fun. The seating position didn’t work for me at all but I’m still interested in testing a Svart 901. My biggest worry is the insurance cost. I don’t like to have high running costs.

I am hoping for an announcement at eicma, I looked back at when the spy shots of the 701 came out though and if it follows the same timeline it wouldn’t be announced until 2024 for 2025…

I think it would have been wiser to have made it an 801 using the 790 instead of the 890 motor. It would be cheaper and more competitive in the market place.

That being said, Husqvarnas are good values, you get a lot for the money.

Yeah, I agree, 790 would have been perfect for me. I have never understood big engine naked bikes to be honest.

I don’t think husqvarna or anyone has confirmed that it is a 901 or 801, the engines look the same from the outside… could still be based on the 790

It would make sense to make a 801, since the Norden is a 901. On the other hand, the “secret” pics say 901, and that’s marketing, so I would be very surprised if it’s not a 901.

Hi Yonsson,
end of this year the new 125 and 401 will be presented. The new 801 Svartpilen will be presented in February 2023.

Hi
Babyevo

It seems to be 801,this means 95 horse powers and engine from from790 duke.More certain is the release date.If it will be the 790 duke engine in fact that the prices of Husky are here in Italy normaly 400-500 euro more than KTM,the Duke 790 price here is 8990 Euro.... the price could be around 9500 euro.I presume April-May in the showrooms.

Ciao

The Duke 390 is priced higher than the Husqvarna 401s here in the US. Thanks for the information.

KTM and Husky’s have the same price here in Sweden. I really hope it’s a 801, they are cheaper to buy and cheaper to insure. I’m pretty sure it would be worth it for me if the final product looks good. A 901 would probably be too expensive for me.

The price depends from how the equipment will be.If like Duke 790 with standard suspensions......i presume the price will be the one indicated by me,if Husky will supply the svartpilen 801 with adjustable suspensions I presume the price could increase more.
