Just thinking, could it be lit up in spotlight fashion from under the taillight/turn signal, or is it too far back?

Sadly this is forbiden where I live. License plates must be in the centerline of the vehicle...

Dodging rain clouds on forrest mountain roads proved good fun with the excellent wet performance of the pilot street radials. Sretches with standing water from a fresh downpour gave the mini mud flap a chance to stand out in some serious splash time... and the shock stays DRY!

Not sure I catch the meaning of "grin thirst things", but let me give it a try:
The mud flap is original from an Asian Market version 250 Svartpilen, and can be ordered directly from KTM/Husqvarna and bolts right up to the 401 using the bushings and bolts from the 250.
Licence plate kit is Husqvarna original power part.
Chain guard is KTM 390 original power part.
Shark Fin (not in the picture) is from Evotech.
Has anyone installed the NRC Fender eliminator for the 701 in a 401?

Looks very similar to the comp werkes ones I installed on previous bikes...
A typical mounting point is the screws for the rear peg brackets, and on the 401 there are no upper peg mounts, the passenger pegs are mounted to the front pegs.
If your determined to have it there, is it not more cost effective to just buy a new undertail plastic and attach a plate holder to it and put a light on it?
Itd prolly save a hundred bucks vs. Attempting to modify a kit for the 701 to fit the 401.

I didn't use a kit for mine. I rounded the top of the license plate and wedged it below the taillight. I then ziptied it to the turn-signal stalk to make it secure. I trimmed the bottom of the license plate to make sure I have enough clearance. The light bleed from the taillight is plenty to illuminate the plate at night, despite not being a "white" light.

Dan00Hawk - I think your solution is brilliant. Simple and cheap is design genius. What do you think about epoxying an aluminum strip to the plate, bending and wedging it. If you got the stiffness right it would allow the plate to hang nearly vertically, but spring up when there is any wheel contact?

I think the spec is that the wheel has about 150mm of travel?

I don't want any risk of the tire hitting the plate under full suspension compression and ripping off the plate and probably damaging the tail section/light. So I'm fine with keeping it at an angle that still allows it to be visible for legal purposes.
Hi, fellow motorcyclists. I came over from the KTM 390 Duke forums. We were wondering over there if any of y'all would be willing to sell the OEM rear fender along with wiring, etc.? Since this is a thread for fender elimination, you surely have some OEM fenders laying around gathering dust.

I have mine still but no wiring as that was needed for my new plate holder. Also no bolts to hold it on (I think I lost them). I'm in Toronto.

I have a technical question about LED bolts. The aftermarket LED turn signals we buy have resistors built into the wiring harness, but I do not see a resistor built into these LED bolt wiring. Will these LEDs not burn up without the resistor?
