Dual disk

Looks great. I have a a 15/42 set on the shelf and I haven't installed because it feels great with the stock gearing where I ride (mostly a mountain pass and no city)

Yeah I went 16-42 first and it worked really good for me since I still ride alot of highway but the 15-42 just seemed to make the Rpm’s and gears align better to the speeds I normally cruise at to keep the engine in that very specific area of the revs it likes..

Picture with the new cut down muffler, might still repaint it matte.

Awesome!
My oppinion - The gold anodized front brakes does a really good job offsetting the brown stripe to give a better overall balance to the color scheme.

Which brake fluid did you use?

Just what ever the autozone store brand is lol

So I decided to finish the forks and install them so I can see if the new brakes lines will fit and so I can install the new brembo master cylinder.. didn’t get to the lines yet but the calipers are there. Will probably still be a couple weeks until I get the rims back
Hello Mate,

I hope that i find this threat earlier, but, anyway. Have Vit 701, i wanted dual brake disc, ordered Duke 790 front forks, put the Vitpilen uppers on them and everything seems fine. BUT, and thats why I¨m here. What front axle do you have? The Duke one, or Vitpilen one? Because the front axle from Vitpilen dont fit the Duke forks due diameter. I have cast wheel. Thank you for your help mate.

I used the 790 axle, nut and spacers, it all fit together good for me, the inside diameter of the front wheel bearings should be the same on the 790 and 701, the 701 spacers step it down for the smaller axle. but I’m not a professional, make sure you measure everything and ensure it’s safe and good to go.

I have about 7k miles on the swap so far and I like it. Next step if I ever have time is to try and lace an adventure 790 hub to the spoked wheels so I can swap them back and forth with different tires.

I’m not really sure, maybe because I did not delete the air injection. My thruxton discolored like that as well from the air injection.

Looks like the stock stainless steal one. I have all emission stuff (e.g. SAS) in place, also.

I think the blue color is just from being stainless, the pic is of my thruxton stainless exhaust. I have had to do a lot of stop and go riding in extreme heat with the vitpilen which really makes the pipe glow… IMG_6779.jpeg

Swapped out the front disks to a pair of actual vitpilen 701 rotors, they seem to grab a little better and have a higher carbon content. Still need to do new pads but it has so much stopping power there isn’t too much of a point.

Also ordered a ktm 790 adventure hub assembly and will start working on lacing the stock wire wheels to it. That way I can swap between a touring tire set up and a sticky tire set up. I think it will all go together lol. IMG_7772.jpegIMG_7770.jpeg

Been slowly working on the dual disc conversion for the spoked wheels so I can have two sets of wheels for my vitpilen. Had to get the 790 adventure hub milled down since the caliper spacing is different on the adventure bike.

Had custom spokes made by Buchannon but the length is a little off and I couldn’t get the wheel perfectly true. so I have to mail the wheel and hub to them. After that, it’s just fitting the rotors, making sure the abs tone ring lines up and everything fits together correctly, wheel spacers will probably have to be turned down a little.

Almost done, need to take down the large spacer a little to move the wheel over about .100”. That will make sure the calipers have good clearance and the tone ring is closer to the sensor. IMG_9614.jpeg

Not too much else to do to the bike, but I did make a bracket over the winter to use a clutch fluid reservoir for my front brake fluid. Will have to check the level more often but it really cleans up the lines. IMG_0768.jpegIMG_0769.jpegIMG_1377.jpeg

@Actionabe Damn, man! You're a fu#@ing master at modifying this bike😲! I really love the look of the spoked wheels and dual front brake discs. I'd like to make the same modifications to my Svartpilen 701, but I don't even know where to start. Any help would be very very much appreciated!
