Dual disk

Rode the bike in the drive a little yesterday, won’t get it out on the road until our gravel road drys out a little and I get the shorter brake lines installed since they rub on the radiator when turning.

One word description for how the brakes work now is violent. If you even think of braking it stops immediately. I guess two 320mm rotors, m50 calipers and brembo rc19 master are kind of overkill… one finger braking is going to be normal.. most importantly no ABS light or any other issues.

Well if of does wind up being tooo rough, the advantage of that setup is that a set of 300mm rotors should be easy enough to find for a good price, and could be installed easily by removing the spacers on the calipers.

Thinking about it again, I dont recall you selection of pads @Actionabe

Maybe less bitey pads are the simplest / most inexpensive change. (and probably the quickest to source...)

True, I didn’t even mess with the pads because I wanted to make sure it all worked so they are most likely whatever came stock on a Ducati 848 EVO.. I think once they get worn in at speed it will be fine, just a huge difference than stock..

Was pretty sure the amount of overkill as far as sub 150 mph braking power is concerned was obvious from the get go, and blatently disregarded due to the sheer awesomeness.

Now I am interested to hear how it feels for you when you get the chance to lean it into some curves.

Very true, the stock setup is more than enough braking power.. I have the new lines on order from Galfer so hopefully they’ll be here soon and I get it out and up to speed… I don’t really anticipate any changes apart from less braking effort, maybe one finger hard braking lol

Got the bike out today and up to some decent speeds, brakes and set up work great. Awesome stopping power. I adjusted the fork oil weights per a thread on here, can’t remember which one.. and the front suspension really works a lot better. New brake lines came in today so I’ll install those tomorrow and it should be wrapped up for now.

I went with 7.5 and 10w, I think the springs are a little softer than they should be but the oil seemed to help alot.. maybe I’ll swap out the cartridges

Maybe I’ll have to try that, I really want to get some different springs, I dislike progressive fork springs. I’ll have to see what race tech offers…

Picture with the new cut down muffler, might still repaint it matte. Put new HH pads on it and the stopping power is really good. Also went to 15-42 gearing which leaves the rpm’s a little high on the freeway but is so much better around town. Have a super sprox rear sprocket I’ve been putting off installing because the rear wheel is a pain to get out without scratching it with my crappy stands.
