Aftermarket parts questions

I realized that on this Leo Vince dual exhaust that my bike came fitted with , you didn't have to remove the rivets and cut off the dB killers, you just have to remove two screws that are welded to the dB killer cups (but it's a very small weld that brakes off when using a long allen key to apply torque), so I did just that and the engine indeed runs better/smoother at lower rpm. the sound is also much much more interesting. since you're not supposed to ride around without dB killers in your exhaust around these parts, I sawed off the tubes and put only the cups back in, so that the exhaust looks "legit".

Most exhaust company sell the DB killer in different sizes so the performance / noise can be tuned.

I would expect sawn off tubes to sound a bit more but perform somewhat less.
