I do the same.I tend to keep all the original parts parts in a box in case I need them, or for the next owner... finding the old OEM parts can be very hard... but it's what I do.

Oh, it's not foolish. I do exactly the same thing. When I put aftermarket stuff on (car or bike) I usually keep everything. I can't tell you how many times I've bought aftermarket products only to put back the original OEM part when I get tired of it or in the scenario or my GT350R, putting back the original shift knob and bootI tend to keep all the original parts parts in a box in case I need them, or for the next owner. I have a box like this for each vehicle I own.
Much of this comes from the fact that I restore old bikes and things, and finding the old OEM parts can be very hard. This is probably a foolish motivation... but it's what I do.
Can I buy your svartpilen pillion seat? Mine flew off when it wasn't secured properly and I could not find it on the highway!
The design changed in 2020 so it needs to be 2019 or before for that rack. For 2020+ the pillion seat part number is 28107047000 and is about $98 from AOMC. For 2019 and older the pillion seat part number is 28007047100 and is about $129 from AOMC. I've got a 2020 seat sitting in my garage that I'm eventually going to butcher by trying to make a rear rack since we're 2 years in and Husky doesn't seem keen on making one themselves.Depending on the year model of your bike you could get the rear rack that replaces the pillion seat. It sells as a separate unit - I don't know if the rear seat is available as a single piece. I think you need to be 2020 or before for the rack to fit.
On long rides... padded bicycle shorts under your leathers can really help.I was just reading the other thread that mentioned airhawk cushions. Has anyone tried it? I went on 3hr ride on Sunday, and my butt was not happy, and that was with ergo comfort seat. I wonder if there's a way to make it just a bit more tolerable.
I bought the one piece Vit seat for the same year as my bike and it fits perfectly. It still has a ridge, but not as bad as the 2 piece. Eventually, I'll pull the cover and smooth out that ridge.I am thoroughly confused now. I've got a '22 Svart, and my butt hurts on long rides, as everybody else's does. I would prefer a single seat, as I'm 6'2" and never carry anybody else, and I like to slide back a little. I'm about to remove the pax footrests and remove the rear mudguard, as my chain cover just arrived. So, on my '22, what are my options? Does the Vit seat work? Or should I go look for somebody to make me a new seat? I'm not crazy about the Ergo Svart seats, as they still have the bump up to the pilen.
Tried what exactly?Has anyone tried this with the 2022 Svartpilen with the 2022 Vitpilen seat? I contacted Husqvarna and they said it doesn't fit?
Sweet! Keep me posted!I'll let you know in a week or so when mine arrives.
Well that's cool. Me too. I thought I was the oldest around riding one of these things. Thanks for the well balanced comment!
Because of my bicycling background the Vitpilen seems natural to me, an upright position does not.
I'm glad most people prefer the Svartpilen. The were new 2022 Vitpilens available for sale at my local dealer while there no Svartpilens.
I'm in my 70th year.
The Vits pegs are also set back and higher. Don't know how that would mesh with a riser bar.Well that's cool. Me too. I thought I was the oldest around riding one of these things.
I preferred the colors, especially the wheels, of the Vit over the Svart and as you say, there seemed to be more of those around, but a bar conversion looked like too big a hassel.
Had I known earlier that the Vit's one piece seat is apparently more comfortable, that might have been enough to sway me.
