2020+ Svartpilen and Vitpilen Seat Options

I tend to keep all the original parts parts in a box in case I need them, or for the next owner. I have a box like this for each vehicle I own.
Much of this comes from the fact that I restore old bikes and things, and finding the old OEM parts can be very hard. This is probably a foolish motivation... but it's what I do.
Oh, it's not foolish. I do exactly the same thing. When I put aftermarket stuff on (car or bike) I usually keep everything. I can't tell you how many times I've bought aftermarket products only to put back the original OEM part when I get tired of it or in the scenario or my GT350R, putting back the original shift knob and boot :). ....it just bothered me it wasn't original anymore. Whatever the reason, it makes sense to keep stuff.

The seat I wondered though, cause I personally think the Ergo seat, looks better, feels better, seems better quality materials, I can't for the life of me see why I'd put it back on or a new owner would want it...but you have made your point...perhaps I'll keep it. Who knows, right...

Can I buy your svartpilen pillion seat? Mine flew off when it wasn't secured properly and I could not find it on the highway!

Depending on the year model of your bike you could get the rear rack that replaces the pillion seat. It sells as a separate unit - I don't know if the rear seat is available as a single piece. I think you need to be 2020 or before for the rack to fit.

The design changed in 2020 so it needs to be 2019 or before for that rack. For 2020+ the pillion seat part number is 28107047000 and is about $98 from AOMC. For 2019 and older the pillion seat part number is 28007047100 and is about $129 from AOMC. I've got a 2020 seat sitting in my garage that I'm eventually going to butcher by trying to make a rear rack since we're 2 years in and Husky doesn't seem keen on making one themselves.

I was just reading the other thread that mentioned airhawk cushions. Has anyone tried it? I went on 3hr ride on Sunday, and my butt was not happy, and that was with ergo comfort seat. I wonder if there's a way to make it just a bit more tolerable.

On long rides... padded bicycle shorts under your leathers can really help.

I am thoroughly confused now. I've got a '22 Svart, and my butt hurts on long rides, as everybody else's does. I would prefer a single seat, as I'm 6'2" and never carry anybody else, and I like to slide back a little. I'm about to remove the pax footrests and remove the rear mudguard, as my chain cover just arrived. So, on my '22, what are my options? Does the Vit seat work? Or should I go look for somebody to make me a new seat? I'm not crazy about the Ergo Svart seats, as they still have the bump up to the pilen.

I bought the one piece Vit seat for the same year as my bike and it fits perfectly. It still has a ridge, but not as bad as the 2 piece. Eventually, I'll pull the cover and smooth out that ridge.

Has anyone tried this with the 2022 Svartpilen with the 2022 Vitpilen seat? I contacted Husqvarna and they said it doesn't fit?

Tried what exactly?
If you mean swapped Vit and Svart seats... I suspect it works no problem. An easy test is to go to your dealer and try it. In 2020, my salesperson just went to a svart and vit on the floor and we tried the swap and it was fine.

I have a 2022 Vitpilen. The extra reach to the bars transfers weight from the seat to the bars thus relieving the butt.

It's exactly the same way with bicycles. If your butt hurts it's because there's too much weight on it. Lower the bars to transfer some of the weight to them.

I can deal with butt pain as it only comes after riding a while and can be moderated with a decent seat where as bars as low as the Vit's result in instant discomfort for the wrists, hands, neck. If that can be endured for a while, it later spreads to shoulders and back.

The Vit's sporty riding position is great for what it's intended, giving great balance and control for high speed corner carving, not so great for everyday comfort.

The Svart bar's are hardly cruiser like and do leave some weight forward, being a nice compromise ( for me) between sport and comfort.
You are probably a lot younger than me, as most people are, so that is understandably going to affect your tolerances and priorities. I can see your side.
To each his own. That is why they make a Vit and a Svart.

Thanks for the well balanced comment!

Because of my bicycling background the Vitpilen seems natural to me, an upright position does not.

I'm glad most people prefer the Svartpilen. The were new 2022 Vitpilens available for sale at my local dealer while there no Svartpilens.

I'm in my 70th year.

Well that's cool. Me too. I thought I was the oldest around riding one of these things.
I preferred the colors, especially the wheels, of the Vit over the Svart and as you say, there seemed to be more of those around, but a bar conversion looked like too big a hassel.
Had I known earlier that the Vit's one piece seat is apparently more comfortable, that might have been enough to sway me.

The Vits pegs are also set back and higher. Don't know how that would mesh with a riser bar.

Yes, the colors on the Vit are soooo pretty.
