Going to a wider (and heavier) tire on such a light and nimble bike would cause some negative performance attributes that outweigh the "it looks better" factor, in my opinion.

Same here. Cheap, easy to get on Amazon or at Walmart on the shelf. Works great, easy to apply, doesn't sling residue.

I only noticed that after you mentioned it! I was trying to get the sun peeking over the wall. The angle of the tip matching the line of the tire is just an added hidden bonus. Nice eye to catch that!

Ahhh, so you're talking about the main "permanent" baffle, not just the removable "db killer baffle". Got it now. :) Once I saw the polished tip option for the Coffman, that's what got me to buy it.

I don't want any risk of the tire hitting the plate under full suspension compression and ripping off the plate and probably damaging the tail section/light. So I'm fine with keeping it at an angle that still allows it to be visible for legal purposes.
