Hi. Does anyone have direct experience fitting risers to a 701 ? It looks to me as though it can't be done without getting a longer brake hose from m/cyl to caliper. Any help appreciated. Kind regards. Geoff. NZ.

You might look at sourcing the Svartpilen brake/clutch lines, etc.

How about mock fitting the risers and see if you run into any problems? What if the brake hose is ok, but the clutch is too short? Or electrical wiring?
Ok i've got them fitted now. Theyre pivoting, 55mm risers ex ebay.
Theres a ton of cable and diff wires all cable tied behind the headlight so no problems there. Clutch cable seems fine lock to lock, but the brake line is definately on the firm side. It's ok, but i'll get a longer one made.
You could cut the plastic housing it goes in and out of to re route it which i'm sure would work, but i'd rather not butcher the thing.

Would you mind posting a picture of where those cable ties are? I looked but could only find one on the top meant to keep the brake line from rubbing against the top triple clamp. I'm surprised you were able to rise the bar that much, I raised it 20 mm and it is as much as I dare to do so without replacing the line.
Hi. It'd be a few days before i could take a pic but, with the headlamp out, if you look into the top left hand 'corner' you should see any ties that are there. Mine had 2. They pulled the brake line 'into' the back of the housing. I also had to very slightly loosen the brake line banjo fitting into the brake master cyl to swivel the line slightly. This effectively freed the line up a bit more. On full lock, my line becomes tight, but riding normally its fine. It would be rarely you would use full lock i would think. It would be a full week before i could get you any pics, but let me know if you want some. G.
If you can then yes, I would like the pictures. I got the top one you mentioned but I can't ID the second one. As of now I'm in the same situation as you ( tight on full lock) but I would like to free it some more for two reasons; one is that I might be able to put some spacers to gain a few more mm if need to, and the second is that mi bike spends a lot more time in full lock than not.

The ties were reasonably close together. If they are there, they should be easy to spot. They pull the cable into a channel at the outside rear of the headlamp housing. I'll try and get to the pics asap for you. Ideally, you need a longer brake line as do i however, in my case, i would rarely have the bars at full lock.
Well, that is what I thought. But since you were able to raise it 50 mm without doing so, I figure that I still have some slack available since I only added 20 mm to the stock height.
Heres a few that may help. You need to take the headlamp out to get at the 2 ties. 1 is at the top, you can see in the pic. I just put a loose fitting one back in to keep the brake line loosely in place. The 2nd is directly below the top, but near the bottom of the housing. When you cut that one, you can pull the brake line out of the channel and outside of the housing to give it more slack. You can see how it ends up. The other thing you could do is take it completely out and around the fork to see if that helps. If you want more pics, let me know., but i can't get to removing the h'light etc until the weekend most likely.
