Does it sound pretty similar to this? Both KTM parallel twins with Euro5+ exhaust.I did a before vid but not worth sharing.
Itās very quiet standing still, even when revving. Comes alive a little more while riding.

Have you addressed your dislike of the radiator side panels? If so, what did you do? If I were to get one of these bikes, I'd have to change the OEM radiator-side-caps to black since I also dislike the bike's overall look with the side-caps' aluminum finish....side radiator panels...options available fitting the Duke 790... Also, can you drop the link to ...Thereās even a very cheap blacked out tank available as āpower partā.
I havenāt done anything to them. I kinda unexpectedly like them actually. I probably wonāt do anything to them until I can find a matte carbon version.Have you addressed your dislike of the radiator side panels? If so, what did you do? They grew on you...as they say. How do feel about the fuel tank being shrouded in the suspended plastic tank covers? I'm challenged looking at the tank panel gap seen watching review videos and sales photos. I've yet to see this model in the wild to inspect that strange treatment of the metal tank. I'm sure the riding dynamics are awesome and help overcome most of anyone's cosmetic sentiments.I havenāt done anything to them. I kinda unexpectedly like them actually. Good point, why doesnāt Ktm just make a 990 v twin again? Is it emissions? Having fun with the buells I picked up.Iām not getting one. I really like my Vit 701 & so I thought Iād give the Norden 901 a try. While I feel the Vit is a pretty special bike, I canāt say the same for the Norden. The Norden is premium in appearance & parts but it rides and feels like junk. It squeaks and chirps, the shifting is complete ass and the āEasy Shiftā only works 87% of the time. These Parallel Twins are becoming overproduced by everyone most especially the Chinese. Anyone have a 1000 or 1050 VStrom theyād like to trade?
I want a real V-Twin, not another 270degree cranked parallel twin.
It is money, parallel twins are cheaper to build, only one cylinder head, one set of camshafts, one camchain etc.Is it emissions?
GP Motorcycles of San Diego let me know the 801 is tentatively scheduled for the fall season a 2025 model year bike. Just sharing what I was told last week.So I went to my dealer today to see what the shipping status to North America was. He made a phone call to what he claims was KTM North America headquarters in California. He then told me that the 2024MY 801 has been cancelled for the US due to homologation issues. Nothing more specific than that. This was extremely disappointing to hear. I then had them refund my deposit.
But I found this suspicious so I called a dealer in another state to ask them if they had heard about this. They had not. They claimed the were only allotted 1 bike and it had already been claimed and they have heard nothing about a cancellation of the bike for the US. They said my local dealer may be trying to cover for the fact that they weren't allotted a bike. They then advised me to try to reach out to KTM North America Customer service for an official answer but their system only allows you to stay on hold for 5 minutes before it hangs up...
So tomorrow I'm going to try again and see if the 801 has been cancelled over here or if my dealer is blowing smoke up my ass.
Ok so it seems my dealer wasn't lying then. I wonder what happened. And will we get the Vitpilen at the same time?GP Motorcycles of San Diego let me know the 801 is tentatively scheduled for the fall season a 2025 model year bike. Just sharing what I was told last week.
