Vit and Svart 701 discontinued, buy one while you still can! :-)

Yes, point taken, but those "X" bikes were a BIG loser for BMW, perhaps even more than the short-lived TR Huskies. It's going to be a lottery as to what you will get. If you liked the bike enough, then the answer is "research, research ,research" and find a similar part used on another bike, if that's possible.

This sucks a lot, if anything because Pierer likes to save his pennies more than Bezos and getting parts will be virtually impossible. Mind you, I can sill get OEM parts for my 96 CBR600F3

It also sucks because the LC4 single is awesome, and it's a shame it won't be available in any street bike. It's one of those engines you need to ride before electric takes over.

Not so quick with your doom and gloom.......

The HSQ SM, Enduro and KTM SMCR and Enduro are still being sold here in Europe. Has anyone seen any words about those being discontinued?

However, sad as it may be, ongoing emissions regs are probably going to finally win.....although it won't be a victory !!

Parts supply is supposed to be guaranteed for 5 years (I think) in Europe, however in practice I think that’s not always actually happening.

You usually get better parts support for Japanese bikes because - generally - they sell mountains of bikes compared to KTM and share many parts across different models and designs...plus lots of smaller / older bikes ended up as licensed designs in China.

Engine parts for the 701s will surely be fine because the engine has been around a while and is still available in other bikes. Bodywork and accessories is where the problems will arise first.

I really want to pick up a 701, but my friend has a Duke 790 and he loves the engine... so I'm torn between picking up a 701 or waiting for a 801/901.

When models I really like are discontinued I somehow feel the urge of snagging one last one, and keep it new until the other I already have wears out. Is that weird?

I had the same with the DR650SE...
Me too, this time I was able to get two new Svartpilens one I'm riding and one as a decoration for the basement 🤣

I like the Duke's but I just can't get past the over the top color schemes. Just not my thing.

It sucks Husky hasn't followed up with a Vit 790 or 890. Some of us like the performance without looking like a dirt bike with bald tires.

Yeap, completely agree, I prefer the styling of the Husky's 100%.

I gotta say, the more I refine my Vitpilen 701, the less I even want a 801/901. It really is pretty much the ideal bike for the roads I ride. Anything with more power would automatically be heavier as well... diminishing returns they call it?

So…. No new 701/901 Vit/Svart for 2023 it seems. Do we even know why the 701s got discontinued? I bought a 401 this autumn and if there’s a new 701/901 coming 2024 I might jump on it if the price is OK.

Hi All , Im new, liked the 401 so much I went for the 701 , much better egro at my height of 190 cm. Any how whats with the discontiune thread, this has '23 models in USA, : but not for sale here in lil remote NZ, see https://allbikeprice.com/husqvarna-svartpilen-701/
probably a computer generated article. The 701 pilens have been discontinued since 2020(or early 21) the Enduro and supermoto are still in production.

I have a 701 and looking for an alternate workshop in France. It's a real nightmare. Think In will sell it.
