"Tweaked" 801 stock muffler

Yeah that doesn’t look bad. Probably too much work to try and do the low mount. Maybe sometime down the road…

Maybe of interest to someone, who also wants to give it a try; there's a used stock Svartpilen 801 exhaust for sale here in Germany.

I ended up removing the baffle, sounds great! I might try to make a removable baffle like yours to cut down the droning for long trips.

The added short removable db-killer made it sound more raspier; to me it works perfect, even at higher speed for a longer period of time.

Tom,

Are you happy with the results of the tweaked stock ? Using it yourself ?
It is so part of the design, on the logos on the sides of the tank !
Should be kept but not sounding enough !

Yes, I still use the tweaked stock exhaust myself.
It's still one of my absolute favorite exhausts; to me it's part of the quite special design of the 801; and I'm very happy with the result!
I just bought another stock exhaust; not right now, but maybe I'll shorten it by a few centimeters; similar to the concept bike.

With the mod you showed on the other post right ? How better does it sound ?

Beautilful bike ! Any tips for the paint of the sides of the radiator by the way ? Love them black too !

At low revs it's not too loud (absolutely fine when cruising threw town); at higher revs the difference is bigger; at all the sound is more raspy; I do like it a lot.

The aluminum parts are not painted, they are black anodized (same process like the silver anodization of the stock parts); that keeps the brushed aluminum effect.
