Tuning

Anyways, it seems like the Duke 690 crowd agrees that taking out the killer on the carbon Akro reduces power.

Wonder if similar thermodynamics are at work to reduce Pilen power on the Titan Pipe?

A new LeoVince pipe made without a killer is cheaper than replacing a "Bosch'ed" carbon end cap; hint hint.

Anyone tested one without a lid yet?
Or with dongle / kev / pcv?

Just did my first ride after installing a power commander V on the vitpilen, so smooth. No change power wise but the bike just runs so much better. I can creep down my gravel road at 2k rpm completely smooth and not jerky at all. And a little piece of mind that it isn’t running too lean.

I’m just looking at getting the Rottweiler dongle but the shipping to the UK is more than the dongle itself. Can anyone confirm if this does the same job?

The other option i can see is this?

Any thoughts on what to go with?

There are many more options, all of those dongles are about the same, and all of them put the bike into O2 sensor "fail" mode.

I was under the impression that the first one gets rid of the o2 sensor and the second one modifies the signal?

A "real" tuning box can/will modify the signal to achieve better performance.

Those plug in things come with one plug connector for the wiring and some come with a second "plug" so the sensor can be removed from the header.

Any of the simple dongles put the bike into a "fail" state causing it to revert to a fixed map, which tends to be more rich than when the sensor is enabled.

I left the SAI because its good for the Cat (i think...) and brings nothing when its removed.

From what I've read, its the ignition timing which brings the big ponies...

Probably is.. I got the powercomander from Rottweiler and they uploaded a tune for it so I assume the timing is adjusted. My butt dyno didn’t feel anything like I did when I removed the air box lid, it’s just so much smoother.

Doesnt surprise me.
When the curve doesnt change shape drastically then it should feel the same, only better.

I'd assume you end up with a change in "natural" shift points or fuel economy though.

You're not going to race it, so the absolute amount of hp doesn't matter.
Hey Max stop telling people to be sensible with their money, its natural to be obsessive and compulsive as moto fanatics :ROFLMAO: honestly though back when I did race, I couldnt afford to modify my race bikes. Now that im old, slower but have a little more money, I just want to keep buying shit for it. Funny how this happens.
