Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

Hope they do a vitpilen as well since I would much rather have the belly pan vs the skid plate and fly screen.

The front brakes are duke 790, low spec calipers and smaller steel centered discs. seems certain it’s not the 890.

Also has bolt holes under the tail for the rear fender and license plate so looks like no swing arm mount. Kind of a shame since the vitpilen tail looks so good without stuff hanging off of it.

Since it’s most likely a 790 hopefully they keep the price low and don’t price it like an 890…

Disregard about the rotors, looks like the 890 and 790 use very similar looking rotors. Would be strange if they put the low spec calipers on the 890 though. Oh well, used m50s or stylemas are pretty cheap.

It's kind of confirmed it will be called Svart/Vit 801, so I asume this will be the 790 Husqy version of the Duke.
Also kind of asumed too that in the near future it will be a 901 version with all the good stuff the 890 Duke is wearing.
Personally I also expect a 601 version with a 650 cc Lc8 version, couple of years from now, but this is what I see on my cristal ball in dreams :D

True, hopefully they don’t do what they did with the duke, released the 790 then quickly released the 890 that killed the 790 resale value and upset owners.

Where did you see that?
We have confirmation from three different dealers that it will be a 801. That last confirmation came in January and the first in October. The dealers have already ordered these bikes. That being said,

I don’t have confirmation that there are two different models. I haven’t asked about that, I just took it for granted. That being said, everybody seems to be talking about the Svartpilen.

It would make sense to first release the Svartpilen and then wait and see how the market responds. It will be super easy for them to release a Vitpilen in autumn or 2025, especially since it doesn’t even have clipons from what we’ve seen.

I'm curious about the market response. If I want a Vitpilen, I would not buy a Svartpilen.
Besides that I'm out because of the fact that it will be the 790 engine combined with the expected "high" price tag.

Therefore I keep enjoying my Vitpilen 701 until a real Vitpilen 901 will be released. At this point I maybe will enjoy both. ;)

I don't think so. I believe that are just the mounting brackets. If it would be adjustable with the given size and adjust space, there won't be a recognizable difference in wind shadow for the driver. Besides that the design (fitment with headlight) would not benefit from an adjustment, also.

Sounds smart. For us that are driving a 401 though… The trade to a 790 would be perfect for me. I only drive short city distances and perhaps a 2 hrs twisty joyride every other week. I don’t need more power than the 701 but they are hard to find. + New is new.

Sure the step from a 401 seems to be bigger and I would also prefer new. Of course if you could find a 701 in good condition it will be cheaper compared to a new 801 until their price will drop.

I would much rather have a twin than a single, but without a wire wheel option I'm out. The allure of the 701 was its styling, literally nothing modern looked anything like it. Also, $12K is getting into primary motorcycle territory, not second or third bike, and for that price you can get bikes that are a whole lot more capable from a performance and utility standpoint.

Didnt know this but KTM Twins are the only proper crossplane 285 cranks around!
The new Husqy is going to be killer..

$5800 is pretty dang good and $10,800 is much lower than I thought from the discussions here. A Yamaha MT-07 is $8199. I saw new 2023 KTM Duke 790s for as little as $8k on Cycle Trader.
I imagine that’s $10800 + those strange fees the US seem to have.

Yes you're right, that's only the price before sales tax, department of motor vehicles fees, and other fees. Sales tax in Los Angeles County, where I live, is 10%.

The price of my 2022 Vitpilen was $6603, but the out the door, on the road price was $7565, $963 more.

I bought my Vit at a bad time, now I could probably get one for $6000 out the door, doh!

Svarts and Vits were out of stock everywhere for so long that when some Vits came in to my local dealer I jumped at the chance to get one. I did get about $1000 more for my used bike than I would get now so the net effect isn't as bad as it first seems.

What the heeeeee
