Hi guys,
I really fell in love with my Svart801 and I know, that I am pushing the bike hard to its last horse ;o) There is something satisfying and fun to ride fast on "slow" bike.
From factory the Pilen is set to lowest preload on the rear and I think, that almost nobody during the reviews on YT, etc., set up the right preload. If you did not do that also, please DO IT, it really change the bike and let the shock work withing complete range.
With my 98kg naked I am almost on right SAG with max preload (just a little on the soft side). And the bike feels much more sporty. The front is without preload adjuster, but for my weight I am on same "almost on right SAG". So quite ok. Anyway I feel, for my riding style, that the suspension upgrade would help the bike. It is more an idea, because is not necessary. (for example I had Triumph Bonneville 1200 on complete Ohlins, brake discs and calipers from Brembo, etc ... even it does not make sense, because it still was a classic bike, even much sportier - surprising for some guys on supersports
, and not a sport bike).
I had really great luck for the price I have bought my Svart from the offical dealer, so there is some space in my budget.
There is no special type for Svartpilen in Ohlins catalogue. So can I take suspension dimensions for 790 Duke? I know, that front forks are better on Svart, not sure about the rear, but dimensions should be same???
Front forks inserts type
Rear shock type
Thanks!
