So im having trouble getting the front tire up in second or 3rd. Seems like videos I've watched on YouTube 3rd gear is possible. I have only.got the front tire up once in second. And 1st seems to low to start. Any tips on how to ride a decent wheelie on these bikes.. from what I've learned its not the TC stopping the wheel from lifting since my bike doesn't haven traction control. My girl on the back might be the next best option lmao

1. Its not the bike.

2. If you are looking for help on youtube to learn how to wheelie, please dont.

3. You will DEFINATELY crash, so better to not take your girlfriend.

4. Take a training course, its cheaper than replacing the painted parts.

My oppinion: You have a nice bike, dont fudge it up learning to do wheelies.

Can ride a wheelie around the block on your Huffy Bicycle?

I'm generally impressed by stunt riders and their skills when I see their videos in controlled settings. But anytime I've seen one in person on public streets, I just think the rider wants attention from teenage boys...😄

But then my own front wheel barely leaves the pavement, and I don't feel compelled to learn how to ride down the street on one wheel to show-off. It would be like doing a cartwheel in the grocery store. Don't be a tool that gives a bad public image to bikers.

About twenty years ago I had a Suzuki and used to ride with the NSW Katana Club. Most of them were resto projects ranging from original to way out. One weekend we were on a tour out of Sydney and a bike magazine was sending a photographer along to get some pics on the first day. We set off through the suburbs and as soon as we hit the multi-lane motorway the photographer on his Fireblade sat it up on his rear wheel and zoomed past everybody, kneeling on the seat.

It was like thought transference for the rest of us. Everyone eased back on the throttle just a little bit and let him get ahead so he was out by himself and obviously not one of us.

Lol I grew up on dirt bikes and the joy I got from riding on the back wheel for miles at a time is like no other. Now a dirt bike and street bike are considerably different esp the vit. I feel like I could ride one on the svart pretty easily but the position of the vit has all your weight pushed forward. Stunting is alot of fun so im not sure i understand the whole showing off bs.. most the time when I did it it was on backroads with literally no people. So not much for the showboating. And I dont need a tutorial on how to wheelie just curious if the bikes are able to do it safely. Specifically the vit. I've seen plenty of svarts on YouTube.

I would estimate that the O'Niel guy has no problem doin wheelies.

My advice is simple though, if its not happening on its own, dont force it.

😉
For some reason I wasn't able to watch the vid you shared lol but I agree.. I def ain't the type to force it. For now I'm just focusing on learning my bike 1st.. the main reason I guess for my question has alot to do with the power of my bike or lack there of. I've had 6 trips to the dealership so far and I bought the bike 2 months ago. The main thing I'm worried ab is they sold it to me low on break in oil then they over filled it by damn near half a qt after 1st service. And then put full synthetic vs the partial it called for in manual. Which I dont think is a biggie but still. And then I had to teach them how to check the oil on my bike. They have litterally sold 2 vitpilens so they claim they are new to these bikes and will learn as we go. So when it comes to wheelies if I knew which gear people can pop there bikes up it would tell me if my bike is suffering or has excessive clutch wear. Maybe I'm paranoid but all these trips to the dealership has me worried I bought a lemon.

The engine/tranny loosens up alot after a few thousand miles, with or without oil.

If you ride it around enough you will learn where the bike does what it does.

Then at one point it will take more skill to keep the wheel down.

Oh ok. I was under the impression wheelies were a new thing to you. Carry on.
