Is this the right cable

Are they all the same will this one give sensor readouts. ( Iat ,coolant temp).
 
I bought this OBD cable (looks similar to yours). I was able to read out and delete DTCs and also read measure and adaptation values with a Windows diagnostic software.
From other applications in the past I have this OBD Adapter. I have to test it with the Torque App on the Vitpilen.
 
Havent treid yet, isnt there a problem that when it wasnt at the dealer for an initial reset it doesnt do the full reset?
 
As an owner you can only reset the service counter to 1000km/621 miles in the dash.

My bike has never seen a dealer after it was purchased.

According to the service manual you can only reset it, not adjust the interval. I assume you'll need dealer software to change the interval.
Mine had its first two services at a dealer and when I reset the service indicator it showed 10.000km.
 
It's the plug under the seat right?. Cable and adapter connected torque app says no ecu. So either the Bluetooth adapter isn't working or app. Also where is the ecu. On the 701 pilens

Ecu is under the tank at the front.

The plug is the "clearish-honey-color" plug which has a cap on it, next to the battery.

Did you turn the key to "on" ?
 
Yeah. On ,or running didn't make a difference. The lights on the adapter. Power is on . OBD2
light randomly blinks, link?( I'm assuming Bluetooth connection ) light doesn't come on or is very faint can't tell). Phone says device is connected in Bluetooth settings although Bluetooth symbol isn't in notification bar . (Android)
 
So I got another adapter off Amazon wifi instead of Bluetooth. This one works. Uo122 ( ecu communication failure) is a logged code. I had a check engine light shortly after trying first adapter but went away before I tried this on. Haven't had any other cels. But it's been taking 2 or more tries to start. And I think I found the culprit. I did notice the usual whirring was gone. It's sounds loud in video but barely audible if not crouched next to bike and not wearing earplugs and helmet as usual

I'm going to try this too. I get a TC Failure message every time I start my vitpilen, then goes away after a few seconds.
 
For all the failures that randomly pop up on my dash from time to time. There wasn't any fault codes stored in mine. I think they only show if there's a check engine light or a canbus component stops talking for a set interval . Ymmv. I just bought it to read sensor outputs.
 
This is absolut normal. The ABS sensors have to calibrate while some wheel rotations.
