Just picked up my Vitpilen forks today from Brooks suspension in West Yorkshire, UK. Lucky for me, they are on 5 miles away from where I live !
As you can see in the pictures, I have had the stanchions coated, ( Titanium Nitride ) New seals and bushes were also fitted at the sometime, the internal are Nitron TVT Cartridges .
The fork internals had to go off to Nitron so that they could match up the cartridge bottoms to the for leg, this means that Nitron now have the fitment details for the Vitpilen 701 forks.

Also ready to go onto the bike is the Nitron R3 Shock, all to be fitted to the bike over the weekend and then hope for some decent weather to go out and test the new toys.

I have already noticed the difference in the forks just compressing them off of the bike, there was next to no difference in the old forks when adjusting the the compression and rebound knobs.

A big thank you goes out to Brooks Suspension and Nitron for getting everything together.

Excellent choice of colors.

Will be looking forward to you ride review 🙂

Just dont try to be cool like me and pull a tank slapper on the test drive. 🙈

One of the things I had a problem with, was the ABS would be intervening when braking hard into a corner if the road surface was uneven, the front wasn't tracking the road surface. Lots of twitchy bottom moments. Fingers crossed it will improve this.

Ill be trying to keep it in a straight line !

Ooh, I love what they did with the forks!

That said, the little mods I did to my forks made a huge difference already. But yeah, I envy you. :p

great news! so there's a new option for suspension upgrades.. i dont't understand why gold, red, blue or even white have no upgrade parts for Vitpilen

Cause like of the 12 people who have bought the bike, none of them have blown out suspension.

A lot of other bikes start to bounce like 20 minutes after purchase, so the demand reaches the suppliers very rapidly in comparison.

What do you mean with your symbolic word gold, red, blue or white? Do you refer to Öhlins, Showa, Kayaba or WhitePower?

Yeah the in comparison low sales figures and the discontinued production contribute to the lack in upgrade/performance parts. ☹️
Rizoma has discontinued their production of parts for the Vit-/Svartpilen also.

On the other hand it's questionable to invest this amount of money in a thankfully relative affordable bike. Don't forget the cheap solution which Max Kool figured out for the front suspension.

Our Vitpilen is very similar to duke 3 to 5, so there is a market.. Shure springing setting and travel is different but these things are not expensive to change for someone like öhlins, k-teck, wilbers or wp (colourcoding from above,😂)

From technical view you are right but don't forget the evil business administration guys. ;)

I got two out of four and it depends from which market you come from. In the motocross/offroad market red stands for showa. (y)

I've been out for a small ride in the rain. There is a definite difference just with the stock settings from Nitron.
Hoping to get out this weekend in the sun to give the bike a good run and to have a play with the settings.

Because I'm interessted in a Nitron R3 also I have to ask for your experience again. ;)
I know @Max Kool is satisfied with the R3 in the back and SAE15 fork oil in the front. What about you @monkeynuts?

Thx

Hi Vatte

i do push the bike fairly hard on the road, and there not in very good condition where I live. The new setup is working great, the harder I seem to ride, the better it gets !
More than happy with the Nitron shock and forks.

As far as Euro / TUV approval, I’m not sure, nothing I need to worry about over here. You can just email Nitron and they will be able to let you know.

I must be the only one who like the stock suspension...

Anyways... does the nitron come with Euro / TuV Approvals & Papers?
My stock rear shock was utterly crap from day one. Way too much rebound damping, it took easily 2 seconds to decompress which would make the shock pack all the time. If you opened the rebound adjuster too far it would start leaking...

As for TUV/ABE, email Nitron. (y)

Will have to check then.

From the experiance reports, I am glad that there are "acceptable" options available.

Suspension is a wear & tear article so...

I'm about to order this same kit but with the R2 rear shock since i prefer to keep it simple. The Nitron cartridge kit seems to be of betTer quality than the Andreani but I don't think there's been any testing done on the kit besides you. You're the first with this cartridge kit, correct?
