Hi all and thanks for starting this forum Carl. I'm Nick from Milton Keynes in UK ( where we keep all the roundabouts..) and I have a 2019 701 Vitpilen bought used last October.
It now has usual mods including Evotech rad guard, exhaust hanger and paddock stand bobbins together with a Puig screen. I was brought up on small Italian bikes including Aermacchi, Ducati and Morini so I love the light weight and handling of the Vit. And the fact that it's a single!
 
Hello Everyone. I'm Hayden from Kansas City. I bought my 2020 Svartpilen 701 last month and love it so far. It's quickly becoming my favorite ride in the garage. Currently have the Husky, an 81 XV920rh (chain drive) that I bought in boxes, KX450f, and various minibikes.

Hi. New Svartpilen 701 ordered and due in a few weeks as the tank recall has to be done.... of course they told me that after I ordered it.
I look forward to wading into the “oil thread” with my fully synthetic guns blazing (not)
 
Hi everyone
I‘ve been riding various old Moto Guzzi’s since the early 90s, even spent quite a few years racing a 1969 Guzzi in AHRMA (American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association). While I like & appreciate a lot of new bikes on the market, none made me want to buy one until I saw the Vitpilen. I bought my 2019 Vitpilen new in February of this year. Its a fantastic bike for the mountain roads around my home in Western North Carolina.

Welcome KP. Your story sounds nice. I have had a few years of biking. My last bike was a KTM 950 Sumo. Sold it for 5 somthing years ago. Have been looking out for somthing new a while and snowed in on Ducatis but never found one i really liked for the right amount of money. Then i found the Vitpilen and realised it was almost perfect.

First off, thanks Carl for creating this forum. I'm also a forums fan and over the years have been very active on cars, mountain bikes, knives and watches forums. As soon as I decided to get a bike again (been 25 years since my last one when I was 15 years old), I started looking for bikes forums and this one is the first one I've posted.

Last month I bought a 2019 Svartpilen from a friend, with some mods and only 1,000 miles on the clock. I was going back and forth between a 401 or a 701, but the price he gave me was too good to pass. Figured I will "relearn" riding with this one and think about a 701 later, if at all.

Here is the bike (just as I got it), which I've ridden about four times since getting it (each time between 70 and 200 miles). Will post mods (my friends and mine) and more pictures in a separate thread.

Hope we can grow this forum with lots of information, pictures of bikes and stories of each of your fun rides.
