Fender Eliminator

As I noticed that some of the pics were quite misleading, I deleted my last posts about the tail tidy conversion.
In the past weeks, I haven't had any time to continue the work, but I will do so soon.

Here a pic of the latest status; it shows quite precisely what the tail tidy will look like.

Looks great
Is that the evotech tail tidy for the superduke?
cant wait to get more updates and pictures from you

It takes definitely some more effort than the first version, but so far I'm also quite satisfied.
It's a 1290 SDR (2020+) tail tidy.
After stripping the powder coating, some milling, some grinding and some sanding, next step will be fabricating a new mounting plate and an additional mounting block.
Here some more pics.

Would it be possible to use the sdr 1290 tail tidy from evotech and just make a different plate to mount it to the bike?

I've also already thought about how to fabricate a more simple solution.
But minimum should be to get rid of the overhanging mounting points of the 1290 tail tidy and also to correct the mounting angle.
It could be done by milling or alternatively maybe also by sanding with a belt sander.
But then you'll still have to attach the tail tidy to the new mounting plate.

I will do it with an additional mounting block that is first bolted to the mounting plate.
Then the mounting plate together with the mounting block is bolted to the rearframe.
Afterwards the tail tidy will be bolted (from underneath) to the mounting block.

Would it be possible to drill another set of holes into the subframe and then put the screws from the inside the subframe and srew the tail tidy in that way since the holes on the tail tidy are threaded?

Maybe it's possible, but the new drilled holes would partially overlap the stock holes in the subframe.

But if you would be willing to drill new holes into the subframe, maybe you could drill them outside of the tail tidy.

This way you could bolt the tail tidy to a new mounting plate and then bolt the mounting plate with the tail tidy from underneath to the subframe.

Alright
If there wont be any better options for a tail tidy i would love it if you could make me one just like the one you are making right now.
My dealer says my vitpilen is going to get here in november so hopefully by then other manufacturers can make their own tail tidies for this bike.
But i do love the look of this one from the sdr 1290.

Damn, I didn't realize, that our conversation was a coordination to an order... 😁

I'm fine with sharing how it can be done, but I don't plan to fabricate any of them to sell them; It's way too much effort.
