Exhaust

When I bought my Vitpilen my local ish dealer had an ´L´ model in stock but could not get the 105 bhp version. I asked if it was possible to alter/upgrade the 95bhp ´L´ to the full power and was told it was not possible. The dealer checked with Husqvarna themselves. I had to buy one 300km away.
Exactly the same story here, though my one dealer with the L model, told me it was possible (to try to have me buy that one). He said it was possible to swap the ECU's and then it should be the same, but there were issues with everything on paper but yeah.
After checking with another dealer they said it wasn't possible, and they checked with Husqvarna. In the end, I didn't want to mess around, so I bought the one they had with the 105 HP. Also because the reviews of that dealer were much better.

I'm running my Vitpilen now with the SC Project exhaust, at the moment without the DB killer, but I plan to put it back in as it's kind of... Antisocial..
Buttdyno doesn't mind as the smiles per miles are more important to me. I'm installing different sprockets soon for more torque.

My butt-dyno didn't notice a difference with an IXIL Race slip-on but just like Tom my grin speaks for itself.
Looking from the charts above, there shouldn’t be any power increase after 8500rpm with the IXrace. My butt tells me my bike with IXrace keeps going faster after 8500rpm. I guess a dyno run would be the only way to find out.

I did some riding today and tested the bike above 8500rpm, it was hard to feel it the bike keeps getting more powerful or not. It’s now also clear for me that I always change my gear when I get to the yellow warning, I very seldom rev the bike that high.

I just installed the coober ecu and leo cat delete. Does seem like the bike lost some top end. Feels like low to mid did increase though. Obnoxiously loud though
Absolutely!

Let me know if it feels any different. I have the coober ecu but no decat.

I attached a link to a short. Feels like it gained everywhere but top honestly. The rear tire breaks loose easier now

Hi guys, don´t want to make a new thread. Are there any real power mods for Svart 801?

I have the arrow slip-on.
I am thinking now about the Coober unit (the more expensive one for 449€)
I probably will not do the de-cat, if it will be so much louder, no need for that. But if extra power ...

I am surprised by the info up here, that even with Coober it will lost some high end. I have -1tooth in front, but is still not enough in the mid-range ;)

If you want a remap, then you’ll probably have to remove the ECU to get it flashed = BIG hassle.

How is the bike with -1 spovket in the front?

With the Coober LM ECU the torque will increase at 5000 rpm from 67,22 Nm to 73,83 Nm.
That's an improvement of about 10%; not too bad.

Here again the graph

In some thread here on the forum is mentioned, that even with the coober it lost some power in high rpms. I almost ordered the unit yesterday, but I want to really be sure. I made trials with db killer "out/more holes/in" on my Arrow and it is noticeable, that without DB killer or bigger holes in the DB killer, it runs much worse (power lost).

With -1t there is noticeable more gear shifting, probably more, than you will expect, but it has now power to took me out from the curves. Still is not enought for me :-D But we are close. I like the bike so much, it is very happy little pony :-D With shorter shifting is much easier to rev the bike to the limiter - get there for full power. I also have to mention, that I put handlebars from Vitpilen 801, but did not order (did not know) the "towers" under the handlebars. So my handlebars are 2cm lower that on Vitpilen. With SAG made on rear suspension, my possition is really quite sporty :-D

It's the small size of the Ixrace/Ixil exhaust and also the design of its db-killers that leads to the loss in power especially at high rpms.
As the size and also the design of the db-killer of the Arrow exhaust seems to be quite similar to the stock exhaust, I would assume the result with the coober should be quite similar to the red lines in the graph.

@animals21 I have the Coober fitted along with a K&N filter , arrow headers and an Akra with the decibel killer removed. I did the mods over time so it´s difficult to tell by the seat of the pants if the modifications increased the power. The Akra and Arrow headers were done mainly for aesthetics. I wasn´t looking for more power but smoother running ofver the stock Euro5+ setup.
If you want more power the bike needs time on a dyno by a skilled operator. A reflash, in my opinion won´t give much extra. Dyno time is an expensive option but hey, bikes are a drug and drugs are by nature expensive. It´s something I would like to do in the future but my nearest Dyno/tuner is seven hours away. That´s rural Spain for you.
For context back in the day I managed to squeeze 213hp out of a Suzuki GSX1100e based bike to run in the UK Ultimate Streetbike championship with a best of 9.7 @ 167mph in the quarter mile. (very expensive)

I would like to keep the cost for the upgrades adequate to the price of the bike. So Coober (or other unit) and probably KN filter is max I would like to do. The question is, if I get, for what I will pay for. The graph up there looks promising.

I have the FuelX Pro+ and K&N filter. It definitely makes the bike run better without staggering but it only operates in low/mid rev range. I still think you need a new map to get top end.

I looked a bit more on the graph and the real difference between stock and coober is quite small in 6k+. 2-3hp will not solve my problem. That it is better around 5000 is invalid for me. But good to know, thanks for the graph.
