There is very little actual data that I've seen regarding what a Powertronic/Coober ECU is doing other than 'making it better'. These are only piggyback units, correct? If the Powertronic ECU does not intercept the O2 sensor signal I don't see how it can modify closed loop operation. Does that mean that to fix the closed loop lean condition one needs a Fuelx and then for open loop corrections you need the Powertronic? Or is there something going on with the Powertronic that it lies about another signal to take care of closed loop?

thanks

Be careful which versions of bike they are for.
Euro 4 models is working with the "traditional" tuning options
Euro 5 models is not working with most tuning options

Beginning with the euro5 emission norms there is a newer ECU in the bike which controls the combustion via the 02 sensor. (Unlike previous models where the 02 sensor only worked more simplified)

I'm in the US and have a 2023. I haven't seen any options for ordering these things regarding euro 4/5.
They usually specify model year, not emission version.

Which is why I feel like I should probably remove my FuelEx before factory service.

If it doesn't throw a code I can't believe they would have any reason to even look. It is pretty obscene that this is even an issue - in stock form the bike runs so lean at idle that it misses constantly, that alone is the reason I'm going to add it.

Also, Powertronic got back to me, they said the Fuelx is for closed loop (idle, constant running on the highway) and the Powertronic ECU is for open loop, so you do want to have both for full coverage.

I've got both, Fuelx Lite and Powertronic V4 if you need any info o comments.

I didn't bench test the bike but you can feel the difference, it is worth mentioning that I made the following modifications on my Vit 2020:

- DNA air filter stage 1
- DNA air filter stage 2
- Exhaust swap system 2018
- Competitive Werkes chamber delete
- Competitive Werkes exhaust without DB killer
- Fuelx Lite
- Powertronic V4

The fuelx lite and powertronic initially I did not do it to gain anything, I did it so that the engine does not suffer the change of filters and exhaust. In the end it did add a lot of difference. Now the only thing is to learn to do well the map settings but Powertronic helps me a lot for this.

I made the Fuelx Lite first with both filters, chamber delete and exhaust. Then I added the Powertronic V4 because the Fuelx Lite alone was was not enough for so many changes.

The fuelx lite allows a better behavior of the bike at low revs and allows less gear shifting, it adds a little bit of torque as well. I highly recommend it, if there is one thing you should put on your bike it is the fuelx lite which literally makes the bike much more enjoyable to ride whether in the city or on the highway.

The powertronic is literally to add power and make the engine adapt to all modifications. The powertronic adds a lot of torque and a lot of power but it is only useful if you make a lot of changes to the bike. In comparison, even if you have all the parameters and parts of agency the Fuelx Lite is super useful and a real plus, the powertronic is only useful if you have already modified a lot of things.

Which changes would you have not done, if only sticking with the FuelX lite? Kept the airbox and filter the stock?

I just got a 2022 Vit with some mods, but I just threw the exhaust chamber back in, as it had the chamber delete, and am going to swap the LV-10 muffler for the Coffman shorty.

That would put the bike back to stock, other than the muffler and FuelX lite (already installed).

The change I would not have done if it had not been necessary is the Powertronic, but having the fuelx lite and the air filters satge 1 and 2 even so I realized that the engine was running lean because my exhaust was exploding when decelerating in engine braking. Also having the chamber delete and the open exhaust were too many parameters for the fuelx lite alone in my opinion and it was no longer sufficient. For that reason and for the care of the engine I put the V4.

The one I recommend is the Fuelx Lite and the filters but you have to pay close attention if with the two filters your air/gas ratio is good, maybe with only one filter it is necessary because with 2 the same and too much air enters your mixture and then you hear explosions when decelerating. I have the chamber delete and the open exhaust, but I only kept the CAT for noise issues and even more sensitive parameters for the adjustment.

You have only one filter, the stage 1? You do not have explosions when decelerate? if not, maybe that the good combo with Fuelx Lite !
I don’t have the vented lid, only the K&N filter and FuelX. No explosions.

Ok it's seems to be the good combination to have only the fuelx lite, and maybe to still have the black chamber help to !

The combo I’ve got works great for my 2022 model so I’m not touching anything else as long as it’s under warranty. I had my bike serviced today and the FuelEx didn’t cause any issues.

Ordered the Fuelx lite, tracking info shows it departed from Bangalore India and is currently in the United Arab Emirates. They have a USA website but don't keep any product here??

It’s all very confusing. I ordered mine from eBay and India because it was 1/3 of the price including shipping costs compared to getting it shipped to Sweden (EU) from USA. So I’m not surprised yours was shipped from India.
