Badwinners Dash - Anybody Who Preordered has Received?

He's the mod of this Facebook group for people who have been screwed over by badwinners .https://www.facebook.com/groups/1132642157327839/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT

Hello everyone. I am a user from Japan.

I bought and installed BW's 701 Dashboard.
However, when I turn on the ignition, the backlight only comes on and nothing is displayed. Not even a splash!
I have contacted BW but no response yet.
Has anyone else solved the same problem?

Try Unplugging the dash. Turn on ignition. Wait 10 seconds Plugging it back up. Then turning bike off and back on again. sokah said it worked on his dash. On page 6 of this thread.

I'm afraid that scammy bastards won't write back to you, they like to get your money but they won't do replacements for faulty items or any repairs.

Thanks for the answers, everyone.
It's already night in Japan, so I'll try it tomorrow and report back with the results.

I tried it based on the information everyone gave me, but it didn't work.
The backlight comes on, but not even the BW logo shows up.
And still no response from them.
Unfortunately, it has turned out to be complete garbage.

Try starting. Then Unplugging. Waiting a little longer then plugging it back in. Just spit balling here .

Thank you.

I have tried the following steps several times.
1. turn the key on (engine not running)
2. waited a while and unplugged the connector on the dashboard side
3. stuck the connector in the dashboard again
4. turn the key off
5. waited a while and turned the key on

I did not turn on the engine, do I need to?

So I've just gone through the last year or so of this thread with interest. A little over a year ago, after having read all of the helpful cautionary tales here, I went ahead and bought the dash for my 2020 Svart 701 anyway. That's just the kind of dumbass I am.

Fourteen months later, nothing. My first couple of emails got answers, including a promise that I'd see it by July. My follow ups since then were consistently ignored. Just this week, I suddenly got news from Walid that they'll be shipping in May. Not planning my life around that promise, I assure you.

Love this bike, but I really want to remove that plastic wart from the triple clamp. It's such a pity that the people who thought up a solution to that problem are so difficult to deal with.

It took some doing, the original modified dash is located under the seat. I had to keep the original dash to allow me to take the signals for the neutral and working lights. Also had to make a little relay board to change the low voltage signals of from the LED's of the dash to 12v signals !
I have all the functions of the Motogadget dash, the fuel level indicator would jump about all over when riding, this id due to the float in the sender bobbing up and down too much, I rectified this by blocking off the holes in the sender to stop fuel sloshing around and making the float bounce.
I have 2 push buttons below the dash to allow me to switch of the traction control and ABS, LED's also indicated when they are off.

Very impressive. Thanks for sharing.

I went back and forth on the Badwinners dash, actually cancelling my order because of their delays, then re-purchased it once they showed that they were closer to shipping. I received it and it's been working fine (I had to send it back at one point as they had a recall for Svart owners). I really like it over the std dash, but there was/is certainly a great degree of risk with badwinners. It was a gamble.

So after sokah and others said they were able to contact them. I decided to try again. After not having a working dash for a year. They actually answered and said they will have dashes in June ( I guess replace if they can't fix mine). So I guess we'll will see \_(ツ)_/¯

@Satur9
You mentioned that the badwinners dash didn’t differentiate between the Svartpilen and the Vitpilen?

I bought a 701 Vitpilen dash and installed it on my 701 Svartpilen. Do you think this could be the reason why I now have ‘ABS Failure’ and ‘TC Failure’ constantly now?

Very likely. Simple to find out though. If the problem disappears when you put the stock dash back on. Then yes.

I have the Svart and the dash and there definitely is a difference, as I had to send mine back to be reflashed per Svart values. It seems they caught something, a difference, after they released the first batch and had to do a recall. Somewhere in the threads here is more detail on why they did it, specifically, but I don't recall off the top of my head. And I think their little 3d printed cover on the back is different as well, and possibly the adapter that mounts the dash - it's possible that the Vit doesn't need that.

Looks like no one has had as positive experience..... but I'm still debating one - Anymore updates?

The dash is the worst thing about the bike, looks like shit and you need a hammer to press the buttons :poop:
