maybe ‘run-out special’ is a better way of putting it. Sweetening the deal to clear the last of the production by throwing in parts they probably wouldn’t sell. The 20s has the wire wheels, the alloy pegs, the replacement exhaust hanger and pillion seat cover. That’s almost a couple of grands worth of parts at retail, and the bikes were ultimately selling for 6999 here in the U.K., when the bikes were originally launched at almost £9000.
There’s no question that the Vitpilen 701 has been a bit of a sales disaster, but as Max says, that may mean the small number sold become classics in years to come...
