Air Filter 701

I plan testing on dyno this winter the Akra full exhaust with and without dB killer and air box with and without lid.
And I think I will ride next year with a cross chain without Orings.

You are running your custom filter with lid or without? I couldn't see anything on wich you might be pointing 🤷🏻

After having tested the DNA, BMC, K&N, MWR, and paper, figured its only to test the French one too; here's how it looks straight outta the box:

The 701 (Enduro) air box is designed to promote air velocity. This promotes low end and mid-range. (And let's face it, the 701 NEEDS all the help it can get in this regard, in stock form.) It hits it's max about 5600 RPM. Fueling takes over from there, to give it a top end rush. Tuning only slightly enhances the top-end, but REALLY makes the bottom/mid-range come alive. This reduces the "surge" felt from the lazy bottom/mid to the bristling top-end. But, it is still hauling butt. Even more-so.

Awe Hell, nevermind. I'm getting into aerodynamics and flow characteristics now.

How about this....Always use an air filter on anything you care about.

I run with a removed lid and have machined the aperture on the filter retainer. There is a limit to how big you can make the aperture as you need to keep strength in the retainer. It did make a slignt difference to performance. To be fair I only ride my bike on dry days and do not blast it with a hose when cleaning. The lid is predominantly to keep water out.Screenshot_20241221-194755_YouTube.jpg

As I've said in other threads - if you make changes to your filter or exhaust run the 15min ecu reset with the original o2 sensor connected and this will get your lambda adjusted to standard. Then reconnect your dongle and enjoy!
