After Years Of Lusting, I've Finally Found One!

I anticipate that I'll pull the Vitpilen out within the next month for the 2024 season. I purchased a DSLR over winter, so I'm excited to take some higher quality pictures.

It was a rainy winter in SoCal for the second winter in a row.

I hadn't ridden my Vit in three months until Wednesday. I thought my battery might be dead but it fired right up, first stab.

Rainy and cold this weekend again!

I pulled out the IS F today.

I should be pulling out the Vitpilen tomorrow, as the weather forecast is predicting almost 80 degrees F, and sunny.

It's just starting to get warm enough in SoCal for me to want to ride. I admit it, I'm a fair weather rider. I went out Sunday for a good, proper ride, the first since January.

OTOH I ride my bicycles everyday, all year round, as long as it's not raining.

I only pulled the Vitpilen out now to check over it. All is in order. I'll be riding it to work tomorrow, and on Thursday.

I rode over 220 miles in total on Wednesday and Thursday, and it felt exhilarating to be back on two wheels. The weather forecast predicts rain for the next two weeks, so it's going to take some time until I can take new, proper pictures with the DSLR.

Pulled out the Vitpilen today, for the first time since May. Rode just over 100 miles.

I've only ridden twice this year since I was focused on my other vehicles. I don't believe I'll have another chance to pull the Vitpilen out this year. Unfortunately, I didn't take any high quality pictures with my new camera. The car pictures turned out extraordinarily well after the year long practice. So, in 2025, I will have high quality picture of the Vitpilen from all angles.

I intend to pull out the Vitpilen today, check it over, and go for a long ride. I don't know when I'll get around to taking high quality pictures yet.

I rode just over 120 miles. I can't wait to take pictures with the Nikon during sunrise or sunset. They're going to look spectacular.

I've ridden over 200 miles so far, and it seems that I might be craving a Vitpilen 701 or 801. The 401 has adequate power for city riding, however, it doesn't have enough power in the countryside. It doesn't help that I have a decently quick car as a toy, either. I'm not drawn to riding more so than driving, at this current point. I don't believe I'll encounter a more aesthetically pleasing design anytime soon, so the Vitpilen body must remain.

I recall tuning the suspension to the sportiest setting, and the bike rides perfectly on the roads I cruise on. The odometer reads just over 2,900 miles now.

Well, I no longer own the Vitpilen 401. A positive scenario that I didn't envision when I first purchased it occurred.

What I know now, is that my next motorcycle will be a Vitpilen 801 in yellow. I did take a look at used Vitpilen 701's in blue/white, however, the value proposition of the 801 seems superior.
