I need to order the black hose from back of the radiator to the water pump and the two clamps for each end.

The hose from radiator to water pump inlet on right hand side of the bike keeps popping off at the water pump inlet.

The hose is working itself upwards and the fluid is pissing out everywhere.

I have to ride with a pliers in my pocket now to re-attach the clamp and have 2 litres of coolant in the house to top it up.

Coolant leaks are also a common issue with the 790; many then use instead of the original rubber hoses some silicone hoses of higher quality; and also swap the original thermostat housing (which is made of plastic) for an aluminum version (from NiceCNC).

Edit: I deleted the link, as I'm not sure that the hoses will fit the 801 / just noticed that the hoses on the "early" and the "later" Duke 790/890 models seem to differ; the same applies to the hoses on the Adventure/Norden models. However, the "later" Duke 790/890 hoses should likely fit the 801 as well.

I had a coolant leak in my KTM 890 during the first 10k km. I changed the thermostat cover by the niceCNC that Tom is suggesting together with Samco hoses and it was solved. No other coolant leaks and I sold the bike with 46k.km

You shouldn´t have to do it yourself. I would deffo go with @Tom suggestion, but use Samco or similar hoses with good quality clamps.
Édit´ also sounds like you may have an airlock which is forcing the hose to come off. It´s hot hereat the moment, how´s the temperature of the bike? Ok?

After my first km ride with my new lovely 801, I found that I have a bad sensation by braking... I think there is something wrong with the brake disks. Even by low speed, it feels like the ABS is always in function. There is no smooth feeling in the braking. Always a hard point comming with the same frequence.

Picked up my bike today at the shop. They changed both brake disks under warrenty. Feels more normal now and much better feeling

So I had this hose and both clamps replaced yesterday. They couldn't find anything else wrong that could be causing it.

Could be paranoia on my part but would be interested to see if it is the same for the rest of the 801 owners.

'Hot to touch' is anything over 45 C. If the bike is warmed up I would think touching any part of the cooling system would feel at least that hot.

Brand new hose and 2 new clamps. Didn’t last 90km before the issue has returned.

I’m really disappointed.

The hose should be down as far as the notch. It has already ridden up about 8/9mm

Any ideas what is causing this?

It might be the valve in the radiator cap (No 2 / part number 62535009000) that isn't working correctly.

The valve is supposed to open at 1.4 bar; if it fails, excess pressure builds up in the cooling system, causing the pressure to escape at the "weakest" point; which, in this case, seems to be the hose connection at the radiator.

Edit: It is also a known issue with the 790.

Damn... It’s hard to believe that the mechanics, even at the official dealerships, consist almost entirely of obviously completely untrained bunglers who aren't even capable of performing the simplest checks when there’s a problem with the bike...
I know those are pretty harsh words, but unfortunately, that’s how I see it these days...

The service I have received so far has been very underwhelming. I told them about this during my last service in July. They did nothing (my opinion). Then I advised them it happened again after 100km from service and booked in another appointment last week. They even charged me 40 euro last week for fitting the new hose and clamps (that I paid for and provided to expedite the process). The bike is still under warranty, well for sure it was when I initially reported this issue. Now it has happened in under 90km again. This garage is 80km from me. When I go down to them I have to wait for 6 or 8 hours walking around sitting in coffee shops waiting to be called to collect it. Im furious. Only 4699 on the ODO. And now I have no confidence to ride it anywhere far from my house, even when they fix it. Ill want a few months of no issues before I feel ok to go on an adventure.

After being anything but satisfied with the dealer where I bought the bike new mid 2024; and where I’d had previous services done; I just booked an appointment with a different dealer for the next service; in the hope that this one is better; but mainly to maintain the (with this bike obviously necessary) extended warranty...

Bought mine in August 2024...I look after my "toys". Have a Toyota GR Yaris too. Always use main dealers to stay onside of warranties etc, but all the best information comes from websites like this.

Ive had the same poor service from the local Toyota dealer. Disillusioned with it....they have no problem taking your money eh...after that they dont want to know you.
