801 owners club

I believe the 2024 has quickshifter from start while you have to pay extra for it on the 2025 and 2026 models, if I recall correctly. Other than that, the bikes are identical.

Note that there is a L version with only 95hp which can’t be upgraded to the full 105hp. It’s two different motors.
Exactly, the 2024 has quickshifter and 105hp. Now there is also the L version and, at least on the Spanish dealers I contacted, they are only bringing the 95hp versions and they need to order the 105hp to factory if you want it. I don't know if it will be the same around other countries in Europe that have similar restrictions on driving licenses.

Here in Sweden they sell both the 105hp and the L version. I wouldn’t be interested in getting the L version. 10 hp difference is quite a lot and that’s not taking the torque into account.

I got the 105hp version when they released it here in Spain, I guess the lite version for the A2 is not that popular, hence the extra stock. I wouldn't worry much about the whole brand thing since it's apparently fixed now, I can only have good words for the aftersales departmets, they are fixing everything so far. I'm just trying to get my damn front brakes to work reliably, but it's the only big issue I've had on mine.

Hello Tom

Did you remove the original 801 sticker before or you let it under the wrapping ?

Congrats to your new bike!! (y)

Because of the wrapping and the stickers; neither nor; I've ordered a pair of unpainted tank covers from Husqvarna to wrap them (part number A67608953000); they are surprisingly affordable / about EUR 90,- for the pair.

Here an additional pic of the delivered covers; the quality is absolutely fine; I wrapped them without any additional preparation; I just degreased them.

Here also another pic of the wrapped covers; it worked absolutely fine to me.

@blue_monkey I ordered 1m of the "3M™ Wrap Film 2080 Car Film M230 Matte Gray Aluminum"; it's 1,5m wide; and was enough for both covers; even with some reserve.
I've no experience with other car wraps, but the 3M worked extremely good with the quite challenging form of the covers.
When I did the wrapping last summer we had 30°C +; and the high temperature definitely helped a lot.

What direction did you apply the vinyl wrap?

Also, as the original tank covers have the 801 sticker, do you think this will be visible under the wrap?

I’m thinking of one of the following colours, although I need to see them in person to be sure:

The first one I started at the top and then worked downwards. The second one I started from the side upwards and downwards; it worked even better.
Yes, I think the stickers will be visible under the wrap.
Here some pics from the wrapping of the first cover.

The 801 is a very fine tuning, fine balance of everything.... She has all the things you really need ! But like you folks, i coudn't help looking at the 990 Duke and the 1390... These two really are appealing beasts ! They seem to do everything the 801 does but meaner, faster... And who is against a little more power !?

Luckily for my beloved 801, those poor Ktm's are soooo ugly ! The insect look in the front and that orange everywhere, those lines, i just can't stand it and never will !!! Really so awful imo ! Too bad, they really seem fantastic....

My latest big crush is this one, 4 cylinders.... and that 80 's look that touches my heart full force ! I'll certainly give it a try in june...

I just got a 2026 Kawasaki Z900RS SE. Four cylinder bikes are sweet! I hope you get the CB1000F!
