801 owners club

Very nice, I'm about to pick up the very same foot pegs. The original ones gets incredibly slippery with my boots when it's raining so hopefully an improvement.

Need to have a look at the gear lever and have something other than rubber.

Don't think it'll make a big difference, but the KTM/Husqvarna gear lever knob might also fit the 801.

Same with the brake lever knob; if you want it completely black.

Your bike looks great Tom! Better that an original silver version would is my guess.

Thanks Johan!
I'm also very pleased with the result; and that everything (especially the foil-wrapping) worked as hoped for.
To me the bike now looks a tad more "elegant"; a tad less "rough"; I do like it.
But let's see what the 2025 "Style Edition", that may (or may not) come this summer, will look like.

Hi 801 owners! :)

Hate to be the bringer of bad news; the most affordable original accessories has a new price after it has been sold out in 🇸🇪.
An over 300% price increase for a pretty simple part - seriously?

I admit, it's still on my to-do-list of mods, but I do not like when they squeeze every last penny out of popular parts. (n):poop:

Love my 801 and are currently using my 401 for learning my kids how to drive. A really nice way to spend time together. ❤️

Bummer. Check what the price is for the equivalent Duke 790 part.

Same here (y)

This a pic o Norden. Empty holes as well.

Guys in the shop told me that these holes are most likely there for manipulation with the engine in a factory.

Just checked it; here in Germany the clamps with the old partnumber "6411390500030" are still available for the old price.

Has anybody considered repositioning / removing the screen? I saw the "custom" Kiska bike they had this small screen and I think it would improve the looks quite a bit. I do not fancy the small plate they put on the Kiska on the spot where the screen normally is that much.
I was looking at the mounting, but seems like the headlight and screen are one big bracket.

You are speaking about the Custom-Vitpilen, right?
You may take a look at the 2024 Duke 990; it seems the 990 dash is identical with the 801 dash; just with the bulge on top.
At the 990 the dash is attached obove the handlebar with a separate braket that is clamped to the handlebar and that might also fit with the 801 dash.
But you would have to cut the 801 headlight-carrier apart to remove the stock dash-carrier, as it's part of the headlight-carrier.

Hmm. Interesting! Thanks for the information!
Seems like it's doable, but not sure whether with the 990 bracket it's worth enough to modify it. Maybe some kind of custom bracket to mount it more horizontal and not stand so vertical like on the 990. When I have the time I'll need to remove the screen and have a better look, also to see whether the cabling is long enough for it.
Too many projects going on right now though (tail tidy soon, classic car, kids play house, new shed, etc.).

Edit: I see now you have a Vitpilen. Then I see your point.
