Here the summarized pics of how a custom made heat-shield to protect the indicator / turn signal at the muffler can look like.

Maybe interesting to some...
I had a conversation with someone who also adapted the Duke 390 (2017 - 2023) tail tidy to his 801; and also kept the stock exhaust and the stock indicators.
Even after a longer trip and some hard riding in the twisties, the indicator at his bike did not melt.
The difference is, that he did no riding with higher rpms over a longer period of time; that's what I did (on the highway at about 160 - 170km/h) when my indicator started melting.
Finally, if riding with high rpms for extended periods is not part of your riding, the indicator might not be a problem to you.

"Someone" put his 801 with the Duke 390 (2017 - 2023) tail tidy on a Dyno; and at high rpms the same result...

Any chance you have the dyno results? Just curious.

Butt dyno and viking blood isnt much to go on.

To me it's more kind of a design "weakness" from Husqvarna.
What surprises me more is that so far no manufacturer of tail tidies has succeeded in developing a truly attractive and technically fully functional tail tidy.
If the indicator is placed at the right position (high enough), it also works with the stock exhaust and also the stock indicators; maybe even without a heat shield at the indicator.
The adapted 1290 tail tidy works absolutely fine; maybe it would also work even without the added heat shield.

Maybe the turn light should be integrated in the rear light

That would indeed be very nice!!
Problem would be that the tail light would have to be even wider as according to the European requirements it needs to be at least 180mm between the indicators.
