2024 Svartpilen 401 Pictures!

I assume the msrp is in Canadian dollars so in USD it would be 10k ish, so about 1k more than the 790, not bad, especially if it includes the “tech” pack.

Even now the Svart/Vit do not have spoked wheels in some markets, so anybody's guess about next time around.
I personally think it's extremely unlikely, but I'm hoping there will be an option to buy the Vitpilen 401 "2.0" with spoked wheels, à la 390 Adventure SW ("Spoked Wheels"). Then again, probably easier and cheaper to buy the Svartpilen "2.0" and retrofit Vitpilen plastics and exhaust.

Too bad about the handlebar. I love the clip ons on my Vit but they'll sell a lot more with a riser bar.

I think it's lost some of it's pizzaz. Nonetheless it's probably going to be an improved bike.

The shock spring is yuge.

I like the exhaust.
Agreed on all counts.

I don’t understand why they would make the 401 longer and heavier with the redesign…. Kind of makes me nervous for the 801/901/1001 whenever it comes out
It makes more sense in the context of relatively less affluent markets (where a motorcycle is a primary method of transportation rather than a car alternative or recreational luxury). The new bikes are less pure to the original "lightweight neo-retro café racer" design brief, but arguably much more useful as an actual motorcycle to anybody with a genuine need to carry a passenger.

With that said - I don't like it either.
I think I'm the only person who likes the exhaust, I would rather have it under the bike and out of sight :D
I'm the other person who likes the exhaust! I'm planning to order the FF Fresco Ultrashorty and remove the passenger pegs to tidy up the tail section of the bike (and, hopefully, make it even lighter).

I have pretty much put myself on the list for a Svartpilen 801 now and will trade in my 401 2022. I’ve got local confirmation that the 801 is expected to hit the stores around May. Price is still unclear so I hope the insurance costs will be OK.

Gosh, I sure like that FF Fresco Ultrashorty exhaust and it's not overly expensive. It remains to be seen the sound which is an issue with aftermarket exhausts on singles. I wonder how easy or hard it is to install and what else is involved in the way of tuning. Please keep us informed.
