    Chain Tension - Following Directions/Experience

Well of course I set the drive chain slack to factory spec on both Bikes. While the Vit produces much crisper shifts, the Norden’s “Easy Shift” only works on roughly half of the attempted up shifts. I don’t know what the heck is going on there yet… wondering if I need a technician to check it...

    Chain Tension - Following Directions/Experience

It is the same on the Norden or at least should be. The reason for the question is because the dealer set up my Norden with the chain slack of a typical “dirt bike” with way to much drive chain slack. Just wondering how many others have that same mentality …if a dealer doesn’t know any better...

    Chain Tension - Following Directions/Experience

Noticing that the Norden 901 specifies a much tighter drive chain slack (like the Vitpilen 701) than any bike I have previously experienced. Who else is going with the 5mm slack adjustment & why?

    Rear fender issue.

On second look after arriving home, the back of the bike is more than twice as dirty than the front. I have some cleaning to do…

    Rear fender issue.

No rain today. It was smooth sailing on the backroads to Natches, MS. I only encountered one 5 minute downpour until finding cover under a Church awning.

    Rear fender issue.

l’ll be riding a few hundred mile on my N901 beginning this upcoming Monday with most of it in the rain (unfortunately). I’ll report back on the rear wheel spray results.

    Vitpilen vs Van

Sorry to hear that. Total buzzkill.

    Vitpilen vs Van

Looks far off from a write-off as all I am seeing is mud on the fork plus a busted headlight & exhaust can. Glad you are unhurt. Were you on the bike when this van initially backed into you? Did you make use of your bike’s horn?

    Tuning

Not anymore. Do steps 2 through 4 above. MONEY! 2. Turn the key on, wait for the tacho to be initialized, then slowly turn the throttle to max, then slowly turn the throttle to 0%, then turn the key off. 3. Turn the key on, start the bike without giving throttle, and let it run for more than...

Thanks so much for sharing this. My throttle, while slow turning, has absolutely no “free-play” anymore and picks up the throttle now beginning with the slightest twist movement. Such was not the case before performing this calibration. Thank you again!

The evotech tidy tail and cat removal negate way more weight than the front and rear bag mounts. Lol.

    Quick action throttle map

Yeah, totally slow throttle response from the twist grip. Can PowerCommander really “fix” this issue?

    Norden Pipe

With the direction that regulations are headed, I believe that one will create much fewer problems by making use of the original exhaust end can.

It would be boring otherwise. 🙂

    Norden Pipe

Stock exhaust end can with Rottweiler airbox, de-cat (arrow) & Rottweiler mapped PCV. So it’s gonna look stock… Note that a lot of the parts are still on back order. However, break-in miles will be done in Stock configuration.

Since moving and spending the past Three weeks driving a pickup truck and trailer around, I though that I would take a break from that mode of transportation and travel by train. The plan was to begin traveling today from Louisiana to Tennessee & rent a car to Mississippi for the purpose of...

Haha still rocking it. 😎 On track tomorrow morning with it. So to an untrained eye, the bike looks stock along with tank & tail ”luggage racks”, haha. But really need higher rear sets… something more to look into.
