Introduce yourself here!

I bought a leftover 2019 Svartpilen 701 yesterday which should be delivered later today. I’m very happy to have found this forum. Thanks Carl for putting it together.

Howdy! I'm Dan from Illinois, a 47 year old Dutchman (seems like there are quite a few here!) that is a novice rider. I took the MSF course about 10 years ago, but held off on getting a bike once my daughter was born. I told my wife that the Svartpilen 401 fit the bill as an inexpensive, safe, easy, and fun motorcycle for me to learn riding responsibly. She somehow believed me, so here I am!

I've ridden a bit more than 3000 miles on my 2020 since I got it in July, and love finding opportunities to go for short or long rides to explore around my area, whether it's a lonesome dirt road, or some twisty asphalt. I've participated a bit on some of the Facebook pages and the other forum, but I much prefer this type of format due to my years as a car enthusiast in the forum community. Thanks for setting up a proper forum, and I'm looking forward to learning, sharing, and participating!

Ladies. Gents. Good Morning. My name is Rian and I am a fairly new 2019 Vitpilen 701 owner in Atlanta, Georgia. I actually just discovered this forum on Monday and I am delighted that I found it considering that the other Pilen forum is relatively stagnant. I bought the bike the day after Christmas and it is currently sharing a garage with my 2012 Duc 848 evo.

Realistically, at 6'8, I am way too tall and at 284lbs I am wayyyy too fat for the vit but it is honestly one of my favorite bikes since the Ducati 916. The design is flawless. Having said all of that, its not without its flaws. At 600 miles, its currently in the shop for multiple oil leaks including the clutch cover, sprocket cover and a another inspection cover but other than that, I love the bike. I have a few mods already including:

-custom raised seat
-rage cycles front and rear signals w/ plate relocation
-puig aluminum shield
-leo vince slip on
-crg mirrors (not installed yet)
-custom painted rear tank plate (in engine case bronze color)

Currently, my main future mod plan is a set of Andreani fork cartridges to combat my fat ass weight and horrible front suspension. Perhaps the Badwinners tft dash when that comes out as well. Anyways, good to be here yall. here are a few pics of the bike's progression so far.

Hey welcome!! (I know you from the other forum)

That leak on the left side could also be chain grease dripping down from the front sprocket.

Hey Max! Good to see you on here too. So when I dropped the bike off at the dealer last week, I just complained about the leak on the right side of the bike. I thought that the oil on the left side was just, indeed chain grease. With that being said, they were the ones that actually discovered that the front sprocket cover was indeed leaking which was a surprise to me.
