Dutch Vitpilen 701

Wanted to go for a ride this morning, walked into the garage to unlock the bike, flat rear tyre:

The culprit:

Plugged the hole:1000031466.jpg
Had lunch, checked the pressure, all good, went for a ride:

Well, the stop & go plug I used to plug the tyre did not last very long. About 400km and then it let go.
So I replaced it with one of those sticky string type plugs on the side of the road.

Last bath of the season today. They have started putting salt on the roads, so that's my season over.
It needed the bath:

Much better now:

Done 9016km on the Vit this year. Odo now reads: 45.421km.

Would be the same here - Hochsauerlandkreis. Unfortunatley I wasn‘t able to ride a lot due to my new friend Tossy 3… anyway, next season will start soon!

Well, not a great start to the season here.
Last ride saw very high temperatures on the dash, temp guage blinking and the fan not switching on. Coolant was low.
Fan works when directly fed by 12V, tested the temp switch in a pan of boiling water and it did not open, so I ordered a new one.
Also ordered a waterpump rebuild kit just in case.

Clutch needed bleeding again, getting very tired of having to bleed the clutch so often. The slave was replaced with an Oberon after having been replaced under warranty and not long after that failing again.
I've rebuild the master a few times, but trying to bleed it this morning I couldn't get a firm lever. Took the master apart, cleaned it and put it back together. Still nothing. So I'm absolutely done with the piece of sh*t Magura master cylinder.
I'm not going to order another rebuild kit, I've looked online and the only other 13mm radial clutch master I could find was this unit from braking:

So I've ordered that. And I really hope that's the end of those annoying clutch issues.

That's bad luck, @nampus . I have to rebuild my clutch master cylinder in the next few days. Let us know how the new master cylinder goes. Good luck!

I didn’t bother with the official repair kit, instead, I got some hydraulic seals that were the correct size. They are still going strong. A tenth of the price of the official kit too .

I'm not going to order another rebuild kit, I've looked online and the only other 13mm radial clutch master I could find was this unit from braking:
Have you tried the Magura Hymec? (Svartpilen, SM) It's not 13mm, but it should work for the Vitpilen.

It's mounted, haven't filled and bled it yet.
But I did wash the bike tonight.

I cut the connector of the old clutch switch and soldered it to the pressure switch that came with the master cylinder.

I might change the reservoir mount bracket in the future. It looks a bit cheap and huge.

Before the (much needed) bath:

👌🏻

Changed the temperature sensor for the fan today.
Then proceeded with the waterpump rebuild:
Out with the old:

In with the new:

Cover back on with a fresh gasket:

Filled it with fresh coolant and let the bike run for about 15 minutes. Fan switched on a couple of times and I couldn't find any leaks. So that's good.

Then filled and bled the clutch with fresh fluid:

So that's the Husky back to operational status again.
Also ordered a new rear tyre tonight, the current one is wearing thin. Another S22.
