Years ago I would mod my bike regardless of it being legal, things like really loud pipes, tiny number plates no chain guard etc. When I came back to biking I made a decision to keep my bike totally UK legal, this means I no longer need to worry about getting pulled for minor legal infringement’s. It is just my dodgy (read as “dangerous”I never knew about the rear seat/rear pegs thing
) overtaking and the odd bit of speeding to worry about. I live in rural Suffolk so rarely see police out and about but still respect a 30mph in villages etc as I live in one myself.Obviously my bike doesn’t need an MOT until September 2026 but I still want it fully legal.
I did consider CAT removal as it is not tested here in the UK but then I would need a custom map and it would be too loud (again not tested officially) for such a small bike.
