Your biking History

Just realizing I am that old.

My first was a Honda MB-5, a moped where I grew up.
Then a Honda CB-1 400
VF400F
Kawasaki ZXR400R
a few CBR600F
Aprilia RS250
VFR750F
Africa Twin RD-07 (2x)
Honda XL500R
BMW R1100GS (2x)
BMW F650GS Dakar Rally
BMW G650XChallenge
Suzuki DR650 (4x)
Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled

And currently an Indian FTR1200 Race Replica and a Vitpilen 701

I loved it, very versatile and comfortable, yet super fun to throw around on backroads. Never had a problem with it as well in 11000 miles. That said, it was a lacking a bit of power compared to my other bikes. Both my Vit 701 and my FTR1200 are remarkably faster.

Lasted only three weeks/1000 kms... (and I nearly killed myself on it, still have a scar in my neck)

It was a fantastic, very demanding AND rewarding bike.

But let's not get romantic, a Vitpilen 701 would totally beat its ass, really. The RS250 had to be kept in the 2000 rpm wide powerband else "buuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh" but nothing happened.

My motorcycle riding came after I went through a significant life change; I had always wanted to ride motorcycles but knew my wife wasn't on board and didn't really want to upset the apple cart too much... I had my hobbies and was good for the most part... Fast forward to 2019 I found out she was having an affair with my good friend of 15+ years. So, after Beth Akins and Cori Nguyen were out of my life for good and now living together in Fayetville Arkansas I had a kick ass house all to myself and a garage with plenty of space... I immediately signed up for the MSF course and got my M rating with the help of some excellent friends who taught me the basics on their bikes as well.

My first motorcycle was the 401 Vitpilen which I put around 3500 miles on in the 9 or so months I had it... I then sold it and upgraded to the 701 and love the extra oomph and size of it. I really dig the cafe racer aesthetics as well. The bike gets a lot of nods and questions when I fill up for gas.... And that's pretty cool too.

It's been a blast and am loving the world of motorcycles and all the things that come with it.

Yep, you can experience full acceleration, practice super heavy braking with trail-off into cornering. No cars and usually everybody is going in the same direction in a controlled environment! You’ll love it!
