Has anyone heard anything about the 801s being discontinued? They seem to be following the playbook/timeline of the 701s with the updated paint on the svart to move remaining units and the Vit just having the yellow model this year. With the mark downs as well, I feel like they’ll be gone next year and probably for good, with the 701 and 801 being a sales disaster I can’t imagine they try again..

Don't know but the price drop is massive and can only mean they have been a total sales flop. A real shame, as we all know the 801 is an excellent bike. I would still go out and buy one tomorrow, especially at the £6999 uk price. Cheaper than a Chinese bike!

I hope Husky comes back with something really good. In my heart, I've always wanted an updated Nuda 900R. Let's see.

I've not heard or read anything about it; but from the sales-numbers it would make sense.
Early 2024 I saw an initial preview in a magazine and was thrilled; after a test ride, I was so impressed that I ordered a Svartpilen immediately (nearly at list price) and also opted for several (quite expensive) extras; shortly thereafter, the list price was drastically reduced, and once several units had been delivered, it became apparent that there were (and apparently still are) several quality issues.
Fortunately, I haven't had any major problems with my 801 so far, and I still have a huge amount of fun riding and tweaking it!
But would I order/buy it again; knowing what I know now especially about the KTM/Husqvarna quality, about the (since many years still existing) issues and the significant loss in value? I'm definitely not sure about it...
Btw., with my (now ten years old) 2016 BMW R nineT I've not had any single issue or problem at all (it's now at about 30.000km); and even the first stock OEM battery still works absolutely fine; to me the R nineT is a long-term keeper; the 801...

That's fair @Tom I've also owned an R9T. They are built like tanks!
My only issue with the 801 (so far) was a small leak in the final drive which we now know is a common issue. You would think with all the generations of 790/890/801 they would have ironed out all the problems by now.
I've also owned 2 x Duke 690Rs and had zero problems with both. I guess those models were built in Austria and the 690 engine is quite legendary.
I had a 790 Duke which leaked from the thermostat housing (another common issue) which was easily fixed.

The worst bikes I have owned in terms of reliability and build quality (by far) were Ducatis.

What I don't get, to counter all the negative publicity - even if a lot of it is misinformed... Why don't KTM/Husky just come out and say lifetime warranty on all 790/890/801 cam shafts? It would restore confidence in a damaged brand and owners would have no worries as far as durability etc. It would restore their reputation overnight.

I completely agree; but instead, I have to have the overpriced annual service performed by a certified KTM/Husqvarna dealer (regardless of the mileage) to get the four-years warranty. Without the annual service, the warranty period is only two years.
Ultimately, I end up paying about EUR 400 - 500 per year for an extended warranty to four years...
Don't get me wrong; if someone is riding about 10.000km or more per year the annual service might be OK, in my case (some more toys and not enough time) I've done less than 1000km since the last service; and the next service needs to be done in a couple of weeks...

Because there are different warranty restrictions in different markets. Here in Sweden all service work has to be done by an official KTM/Husky service center to retain the warranty, so it would be possible here.

Yes the dealer tax on the warranty is in reality a paid for extended warranty. I just paid £440, not sure what that is in € but it's outrageous.

At least in the interview linked below, KTM Austria Lead Mr Schipper states that they will discontinue the Husqvarna "Roadster" Line. They (Husqvarna) will focus on the SuperMoto and Enduro Lines according to the market strength and history of the Husqvarna brand

it's a very informative interview; @Joa thanks for sharing.

From min 30:00 he speaks about Husqvarna.

"This naked bike segment of Husqvarna (Svartpilen and Vitpilen) will be phased out gratually; and there are no more priorities there."

that really explains the mad prices of the VIT/SVARTPILEN 801...they have to get rid of all those bikes as soon as possble..
never mind, just enjoy my new bike...everything comes to and end sooner or later...
