Winter storage

I recently moved to Wisconsin and will no longer be riding year round, that being said, what do I need to do to go about winterizing my bike?

I live in the UK, my bike is garaged, I ride mainly in temperatures above 15C (59F) and dry. The first winter I had my bike I winterised it….
I washed and dried the bike. I raised the tyres from the floor using front and rear paddock stands. I removed the battery to reduce the temptation to start the bike.I changed the oil and filters at the end of the season. I filled the petrol tank (99RON 5% ethanol which is what I run the bike on) to the brim to reduce condensation in the tank.
These are what I would call winterising techniques.
Then from mid October of 2023 here in the UK we had unseasonable dry and warm weather and I regretted winterising my bike. I could have gone on many more rides, so…. In 2024 I just filled the tank ( which I do after every ride anyway) and parked the bike as normal. Every time the weather was warm enough and dry I went for a ride. I plan on doing this for this winter also and my bike has not suffered any consequences from not wintering it. I service ( oil + filter etc.) the bike in the spring ready for the next season.
I will say that once the roads are salted here in the UK I no longer ride as the salt can be very slippery to ride on and will quickly rot a motorcycle away.

Yeah this is my first time thinking about winterizing the bike normally I ride year round, I came from Oregon state on the coast so very rainy, dress for the occasion and go, but Wisconsin is different, this weekend we are supposed to be in the teens (negatives for Celsius), I do appreciate the input though thank you.

Hi there,
My first post after buying a 2024 Svartpilen a few days ago. I am also from Wisconsin.
1.) Full tank of 91 octane/ethanol free gas and some fuel stabilizer.
2.) Depending on how many miles on your oil (change if need be), make sure your last ride is one that fully heats up your oil.
3.) Connect your battery to a battery tender.
4,) Put some fabric softener sheets under your seat/around wiring to keep rodents away.
5.) Plug exhaust for same reason.
6.) Not really necessary, but I always have my tires on a rug.
7.) Do not start your bike while in hibernation unless you do a long ride to fully heat up.
8.) throw on a cover.
