Who is getting one?

My dealer has now given me an offer to trade in my 401 for the 801. I also called an insurance company to o ask for the insurance price. It’s high, but I’m gonna go for it anyway.

My plan is to buy this exhaust

Finally got it to work, are the prices on there real? Looks like the extra tank covers are only around $100 USD. Thats nice to add some custom color, maybe I’ll have to photoshop it to have the same color scheme as the original vitpilen 701 and see if it looks better.

I think that exhaust would make the tail look a lot better, I saw an Australian site that had a low mount set up like the original vitpilen that would be interesting.
 
I was looking at this photo with the covers removed and noticed it does not have the obnoxious radiator side covers. These look much better. Wonder if it was a prototype or what. IMG_7560.jpeg

I think the prices are OK but I don’t know if the picture of the tank is representative of the real thing. It should be, but it says in the text that it doesn’t come painted. For that price I could buy it and just keep it like it is without the original text. Would look stealthier than stock for sure.

Check the Duke790 on the KTM site. The radiator is very slim and it should be the same radiator? I think what we see on the 801 is just some extra plastic to make the radiator look more beefy.

Looking at it, the 790 does not have its coolant overflow tank there like the svartpilen so I don’t think the smaller covers would work.
 
Anybody worry about the longevity of the 790 motor? Assembly is in Austria, so perhaps it will differ to the Duke 790. There’s lots of reports of issues with the 790 engine for earlier model years, have upgrades been made?
 
Not just early model years. All model years 790 have issues with coolant and oil leaks.
And there are quite a few with camshaft wear issues as well 🤐

A little leakage I can handle, I have owned a Triumph in the past. 😆 -Camshaft wear is no good though, I read about that too.

I’ll be getting an insurance that covers motor damage for 12 years and/or 80 000km, so I’m not too worried about it, it can still sucks to have issues though.

The cycle world article says they were told it would be available in multiple colors. Seemed like a lot of words to have been a typo. IMG_7597.jpeg
